I DROVE LISTENING TO OLD time road. Even though it is the middle of March there are little snowflakes falling from the sky. Other people will blame the global warming for this but I all I am focused on right now is driving safely to my house without slipping and dying.
Finally after an hour of snail-pace driving I pull over in front of my house. It looked as bare as it has been the last I saw it. All the lights are closed and it looks as though nobody lives here. My family may already be in bed.
The grass is wet with the snow and after switching on the back lamp I open the door with the spare key under the mat. I tip-toed to my room and opened it slowly. There she was, Rage's red head was peeking through the blanket she covered herself with. I, as quiet as a mouse, jumped on top of her and scared her to death. She took her revenge by tickling me for some good five minutes.
"Okay I surrender," I said wheezing, "How long are you staying for?"
"For about a week because Jeff is out of city and Grandma has gone to California to meet some of her friends for a week."
"California? It would be quite sunny there. I mean it is already snowing here." I said
"Yeah it is much warmer than Indiana and as long as the sun is shining there she may even get a tan."
"The old lady can do with a little sunshine," I said and rage nodded.
By the time we went to bed at eleven, the snow was about an inch deep.
