YouTube 101

Arriving

beep beep beep

I groaned and hit the off button on my alarm clock. I had set it to 11:00 so I could get everything done in time.

I rolled out of bed and trudged to the bathroom. I washed my face, brushed my teeth and put on a bit of makeup. I went downstairs to have breakfast. No one was in the kitchen so it was quiet. I quickly ate some cereal and went back upstairs to get dressed. I put on a loose sweater, shorts and converse. I knew it would be warmer in LA than in New York.

Once I finished getting dressed it was 12:00. I walked into my moms room to wake her up.

"Mom get up!! You need to drive me to the airport!" I said shaking her. It was times like this wish I had a car.

"Alright alright I'm up!" She groaned pushing me away. I walked out of her room so she could get ready. It took her 30 minutes to finish everything.

"Come on let's go." she said grabbing one of my suitcases. I grabbed the other one and headed to the car. It took two more trips to get everything into the trunk.

"Hurry up you don't want to be late!" my mom called as I put the last bag into the trunk.

"Okay I'm here let's go." I set getting to the the passenger seat. It was a 20 minute drive to the airport. It was now 12:50 so we quickly got everything out of the car and into the building. After checkin I said my goodbyes to my mom. There was a lot of hugging involved.

"Mom Im going to miss my flight!" I laughed trying to get out of her hug.

"I'm sorry." She said letting go of me. "Have fun!"

I walked onto the plane and put everything into the compartments above my seat. Luckily I got the window seat. I sat down and prepared for the flight

Once the plane landed I called a taxi.

"Are you going to YouTube 101?" the driver asked me once I told him what hotel I was going to.

"Yeah. How'd you know?" I asked.

"I was informed that a lot of people are going to that hotel because of that school." He answered.

"Oh." the rest of the ride was silent. I'm not used to going places in a taxi so I wasn't sure if I was supposed to keep the conversation going or not.

"Here you are." he said pulling up to a huge hotel. He opened the trunk and helped me get everything out.

"How much do I owe you?" I asked reaching for my wallet.

"No it's alright." He said.

"Really?" I asked shocked. He laughed.

"Really. Have a nice day!" With that, he got back into the car and drove off. I took my suitcases and walked inside.

"Wow...It's beautiful!" I whispered looking around. It looked like a 5 star hotel. I left my two suitcases by the door and went to go get my other bags. I walked up to the counter. A lady about 40 was standing there with a warm smile.

"Hello and welcome to the Aria hotel! Will you be attending YouTube 101?" she asked. I nodded.

"Last name please."

"Monroy." She typed something into the computer beside her.

"Alyssa?"

"That's me."

"You'll be staying in room 216." she said, handing me the key.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Enjoy you're stay!"

"Thanks you too." I said. "Oh wait you're not..." I trailed off. I always said stupid things like that. My face reddened. I could tell she was trying not to laugh. I walked over to where I left my luggage. Two men in uniform came over to help me.

A few minutes later all my bags were up on the 3rd floor and I was standing in front of my room. I took the key and unlocked the door. It was amazing!!!! I walked in and immediately jumped on the bed. I laughed as I bounced a few times. I walked over to the huge widow and opened the shade. I gasped.

"Oh my gosh..." I breathed. The view was breathtaking. I stood there mesmerized by the beauty of Los Angeles. Once I finally snapped out of my daze, I brought everything in the room. I got my laptop out of my bag and set it on the desk by the TV. I walked around the room. For a hotel room, it was big. There was a kitchen, living room and bathroom. I walked back to the bedroom. I took out my camera I used for vlogs and set it on the desk beside the laptop. I looked at the clock on the wall. It said 3:00. Wow. Three hour difference.

I would've gone sight seeing today but I felt too tired. I picked up my vlog camera and turned it on.

"Hey guys! Guess where I am! Los Angeles!!!! I'll be vlogging everything I see for a while so prepare for a video everyday. " I said to the camera.

"Anyways, if you didn't know, I'm here for YouTube 101. Like many other YouTubers, I'm actually really excited for this! I know it's school but it's with a bunch of the people that inspired me to start making videos." I looked out the window at the view.

"Oh I have to show you guys the view from my hotel room!!" I said getting up and walking to the window. I turned the camera to face out the window.

"Look at how beautiful everything is!" I said excitedly. I kept the camera facing the window for a while longer, zooming in a bit. Then I turned it back to me.

"I'm not planning on doing anything today. Just sleeping. So that's it for today. Sorry this video is so short. It'll be longer tomorrow. Okay bye! See you tomorrow!" I said and the covered the camera. I really need an outro. I took the SD card out, put it into my laptop and started to edit the footage. 10 minutes later the video was edited and posted. I spent the rest of the day being lazy.

~The Next Day~

I surprisingly woke up the next day at 8:00. Today I would go site seeing. I got up and changed into my clothes. {Outfit on side}

I walked into the kitchen and saw that the fridge was already stocked. I ate a bagel and cream cheese. When I finished I brushed my teeth. I grabbed my purse and put my camera, phone and hotel keys inside.

I walked out of the hotel doors and into the warm California air. I wasn't sure where I was going to go today. I was going where the sidewalks took me. There were a lot of shops on the streets of LA. I was deciding which one to go into when I heard a shout.

"Watch out!!!" I turned around in time to see a boy coming straight at me on a penny board, but not quick enough to avoid him. He crashed into me but it didn't hurt. Well... not that much.

"I'm so sorry!!" he said helping me up.

"It's alright. I'm fine." I said. Only then I looked up at him. I almost fainted.

"Hi I'm Connor."
