Chapter 16. What Mommy Says...

Zhan's mother was standing outside in the driveway with Louis, drinking a cup of tea with him when Zhan and Yibo returned from their trip to the city. And of course she didn't miss that the two men are wearing something new and shiny on their ring fingers.

"Yes, that I may still experience that. My two boys have finally got engaged. I can't believe it." She blurted out and walked with her short legs, fast towards them.

Happily, Yibo took his future mother-in-law in his arms and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Looks like I'm going to have a family again soon." He said, hugging Zhan's mom.

"Oh, boy, you already have that. You're a part of the family long ago, my child." The old lady replied cheerfully.

Louis congratulated them politely and was happy for them. But especially for his young master. Because he had noticed immediately that Yibo is something special for his young master. And he was happy because his boss, who was more like a son to him, because he had been accompanying Zhan since he was nine years old, that he put aside his fears and doubts and gave himself and Yibo a chance.

"We should start planning the wedding quickly. After all, I am old and I want to be around for the wedding." Told Zhan's mother and rubbed her hands. She had been waiting for this moment for so long and secretly started preparations for a long time. All the two of them had to do now was send out the invitations, choose the food and get the suits. She had already done the rest.

She even booked a location already and only needs to confirm the date.

"Mom, don't you think we still have some time left?" Asked Yibo, who had already gotten used to calling his future mother-in-law Mom in the few days she had been here.

"No! I may not have long to live. At my age, it could happen every day. And what mama says is law! I want you to get married soon, and I want to show off to all my friends in bingo, what a sweet boy my Zhan married." Said the old lady, grinning from one ear to the other.

"All right, you're right, okay?" Zhan replied and stroked his mother's hair.

"Oh yeah, that stupid Seungyoun was here today. First he asked for Yibo, but when I said he wasn't here, he immediately asked me about Zhan. You should do something about that ass!" She said and got angry again when she thought about Seungyoun.

"Did he say anything else?" Asked Zhan. His mother shook her head and looked thoughtfully at Yibo.

"Boy, I think you should make it clear to him that Zhan is yours and he should keep his hands off him." She demanded it of Yibo.

"Mother, I can speak for myself. I don't have to leave this to my fiancé. I'm a grown-up. I'm older than him, so there's no need."

"No way, Yibo has to tell his friend to keep his dirty hands off you. This creep will keep on trying over and over again." She replied and waved her fist in the air.

"Don't worry mom, I'll talk to him and tell him Zhan is with me and he has to stop."

Yibo had already thought about this for himself as well, and he asked himself how he could get his best friend to stop chasing after Zhan.

He still sees Seungyoun as his best friend. The many years the two have known each other and the many times Seungyoun has helped him when he was completely down, the two have welded together.

Therefore, it's not only hard for him to give up this friendship, because Seungyoun was his only friend until now. But also because he never abandoned Yibo when he needed him. And more than once he had helped Yibo to get back on his feet.

Still, when it comes to Zhan, his fiancé, Yibo is also willing to let his best friend go. It would hurt him, but not as much as losing Zhan. Zhan is now the center of his life, the most important person in his life and he is willing to do anything to not lose him.

With Zhan, Zhan's mother and Louis, he has not only brought three more or new people into his life, but he has also got a family. A family that has taken him into their circle without ifs and buts and loves him.

Finally he has again what he lost so long ago and always missed. People who accept and respect him as he is. Love and care for him, be there for him and support him.

After the death of his parents, Yibo had only his grandmother left. She took care of him and nursed him. She made sure that he never went hungry, even though food was often scarce and he often did not get completely full.

She sent him to school and with her little money she bought his school books and school materials he needed. A lot of things were used, but at least he had everything he needed.

It was never possible for her to take him on school trips, because she could not afford the money. She could never give him pocket money and often lacked of affection. He had often wished that she would just take him in her arms, tell him that she loved him, but she never did.

And now he had Zhan who loves him, who hugs him every day and tells him that he loves him. He has Zhan's mother who takes him in her arms and cuddles him every time she sees him. And even Louis has had a hug or two for him.

These three people give him exactly what he has been searching for and missing for so long. And that's why he loved Zhan all the more.

Yibo imagined often and gladly, that his parents were watching him from the sky and made Zhan come into his life. His kindhearted parents, who never hurt anyone, who were often mocked for their lack of education, which he missed so much.

An accident tore the two brutal out of his life and took the two people who were most important to him and whom he needed so much. All these years he had longed for their affection and warmth. And now finally, for half a year, he had people in his life again, who gave him exactly what he was so longing for.

Seungyoun is important to him. But even more important to him is his new family. And if Seungyoun would try to take them away from him, he wouldn't sit there quietly and watch this happen. He won't stay quiet but stand up for his family and fight.

And if that means that he would have to give up Seungyoun, then that's just the way it is. Then he would exclude him from his life and he would do so without batting an eyelid. No one will take his family away from him again. Not even his best friend!
