I groaned as I felt warm, streaks of sunlight softly kiss my face. I fluttered my eyes open and stayed in bed for another five minutes or so. Grunting, I reluctantly removed the covers away from my body and stretched. Memories of last night began to haunt me, I already had a nightmare about it and you'd think that, that was enough. I rubbed my eyes and flexed my muscles, after that I freshened myself up and poked Clarisse awake.
"What? Go away," she growled. Wow, I guess she wasn't a morning person.
"Come on Clarry, it's me...your favourite brother," I half joked, half whined. I dodged her frailing arm as she tried to hit me. "Easy tiger," I tantalized, try to look innocent.
"Get lost "brother". Or I'll punch you right in the nose," she threatened.
By now some of the others in the cabin were awakened by our little coversation. "Jeez, I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to see Rachel before breakfast. So that you don't throw a hissy fit when I'm not lined up for breakie." With that, I patted her head and flashed out of the cabin hearing Clarisse's cursed flung after me.
I smiled at myself, I don't get why people don't like Clarisse. I mean sure she acted more like an ogre than a women but she was nice once you get through the hard exterior. I sighed as I walked past Aphrodite Cabin, I felt a pang of guilt stung me when I imagined how badly I had hurt my best friend.
"Marcus?" a puzzled voice sounded.
I turned around to meet with a pair of intense grey eyes. Annabeth. "Hey," I greeted with a dazziling smile.
She smiled back and said, "I didn't think you'd be up yet. I was just going to come and get you."
"Is Percy joining us?"
"No, he's coming a little later," she revealed.
I nodded, feeling a bit disappointed. I heard a lot of things about Percy and I was definately going to ask him if he'd come on the quest with me, along with Annabeth. Why them two? Well, they were experienced, and can work well together. Also, Percy can fight awesomely and Annabeth had some serious brains.
"Umm, where exactly are we going?" I asked after a minute.
"The Big House of course. I heard Rachel's there, all ready and waiting for you with Chiron."

"Bravery, intelligence, strength and love.
Shall travel by air, sea, sand and ice.
Take caution as darkness follows, each must face their internal bane.
Where one lacks, the other powers.
Bravery, intelligence, strength and love.
Look deep into thy hearts, only then will the path be revealed."
One word...what? What did Rachel mean by that? I turned to Chiron with a questioning look. "Now what?" I asked.
He sighed and sat down onto his magical wheel chair. "The quest must begin. Starting with who's going to accompany you."
"Bravery, intelligence, strength and love," Annabeth repeated. "So I'm guessing four people."
"Yes," Chiron nodded. "I think it's pretty clear who's suggested. Bravey?"
"Jackson?" I offered.
"Yes, Percy demonstrated immense bravery as her took on the Titan Lord."
I shrugged and then said, "and I'm guessing intelligence is Annabeth. Since you were the one that solved the Big Prophecy."
