“Karma comes after everyone eventually. You can't get away with screwing people over your whole life, I don't care who you are. What goes around comes around. That's how it works. Sooner or later the universe will serve you the revenge that you deserve.”

-Jessica Brody, The Karma Club

March 16, 2 years ago- The First Heist and The Birth of The Phoenix:

It was a pleasure to burn. I thought sarcastically as I pressed myself against the hot building wall, waiting for my opportunity. Aidan and I were invisible in our black clothes, as we blended in with the shadows. I took my binoculars and scanned the area. Peter, our target was sitting quietly at his desk drinking coffee. "That's right, Peter drink the coffee." I whispered, as I watched him gulp down the cup. Every sip was closer to us stealing that painting. All we had to do was wait for the coffee to kick in, then Peter would be asleep for about six hours, just enough time for us to disable security, go in and steal the painting. Aidan was beside me, he cool breath fanned my neck as he spoke, "How long until we go in?" He asked. He said as he stared at me with his mesmerizing green eyes. His short thick black hair shined with the sun, making him look like a fallen angel. He was expecting me to answer, I thought stupidly. "Ten minutes." I replied automatically. Cut it out, Isabelle, get your head in the game. He pursed his lips, as if wanting to tell me something, but he was silent.

Ten Minutes later, Peter fell to the ground. "Now we move." Quickly I took off my belt and used it as a zipline and I ziplined to the art museum. Aiden did the same. I began to hack into the security system while Aidan watched making sure no one was coming in. "This is so weird." I said aloud while hacking. Aidan turned and grinned at me. "What's so weird?" He asked. I sighed and replied, "The entire world thinks I'm in prison, and they don't know about my little six-week vacation with a thief that Ben gave me." It's so good to have connections, I thought happily. Aidan said flirtatiously, "I think we both know that I'm not just any thief."

        "Why's that?" I replied.

He kissed me unexpectedly, I could feel myself going into shock. It was the kiss of a lifetime. It is not the gentle kiss of a couple on a first date, nor is it the kiss of a man driven by simple lust. He kisses me with the desperation of a dying man who believes the magic of eternal life is in this kiss. It was a kiss that inspired the stars to go into the sky and light up the world.

"What was that for?" I replied, breathless.

Before he could reply the computer beeped. I had just hacked into one of the most secure network's in world. Right now, probably is the time for my happy dance. "Let's go." Aidan said handing me a pair of black gloves.

Six hours later, a priceless painting had been stolen, in it's place a spray-painted drawing of a Phoenix, and two thieves had gotten away. That was the beginning career of the Phoenix, an icon that would soon be seen all around the world.

In all honesty, I was slightly paranoid as I travelled the streets of New York. The dark alley way only lit up near a street light, and if I wasn't near the streetlights I would be in complete darkness. Four years ago, if I was on this street I would be worried about being mugged, and I would have wished there were police monitoring the streets. Now, I was happy that wasn't the case. If I ever needed to fight, I would be able to, thanks to Aidan's lessons of Martial arts. I was confident I could definetely win a fight if I needed to. I heard my phone vibrate, and I quickly took it out.

Aidan: I want to meet soon. I miss you.

I smiled at the text. I was finally here. I knocked on the old oak wood, three times. I took a deep sigh as I handed him the eighty million dollars. He pushed his glasses up, and ran a hand over his gray hair, and he inspected the money. "Da. You're right." He said in a Russian accent. "This is money, but there is tracking device. In each bill. Where money is spent, the police know." I knew it! I thought, the FBI were tracking me, and I was right. I sighed at the money, it was pretty useless unless I found some way to remove the tracking device. I glanced up at Alexei, the old man who was now glancing at the money with a new-found determination. Alexei always liked a challenge, just ask him how he created a bomb out of a soup can, a remote control car, a pencil, and a rubber band. I smiled warmly at Alexei. "Alexei, how would you like to take all the tracking chips out for me?Consider it my gift." Alexei looked like a boy who realized it was Christmas.

"What's in it for me?" He asked trying to get a deal, but I knew that Alexei was mentally reaching for his tools, he was couldn't wait to get started. "What do you need with the 800,000 chips that I have to take out?"

I  tsked at Alexei, and I grinned at him,"You underestimate me. What if I told you, that the 800,000 chips will be used to screw over the FBI for everything they've done. To us. To you, Alexei." I fingered with the key on my necklace, as I looked at him, waiting for a reaction. He smiled at me, a genuine smile, probably the first one I had seen all month.

"You should have just started with that, Izzy. I'll get you those 800,000 chips, it may take me a few months. But, we have a team that can do it. In six months, you will be able to trace the untraceable banks accounts of your enemy."

I nodded, grabbed my purse, and left.

        "Oh and Isabelle?" Alexei asked.

        I turned facing him, "Yes?"

"Try not to get yourself killed."

I smiled at Alexei's advice and left. I wanted justice, I wanted it at all costs, even if it cost me my life.
