Asa Benoist

"Here you are, sir." Asa beams as she sets down a tray, gripping the cold cup of beer and setting it in front of a gentleman sitting alone. The atmosphere is filled with a buzz, and voices and chatter are heard everywhere. He looks up and mutters a quite thank you as she nods, heading back to the kitchen.

Her eyes dart to the clock as she enters and sits the tray with the rest, wiping her hand on a towel slung over her shoulder.

"5 more minutes." She whispers to herself and turns her head to the sound of footsteps. The kitchen door swings open and Asa visibly relaxes and sighs away the scare.

"Julio, one of these days you're gonna give me a heart attack." She snaps at him, and he lets out a laugh.

"Why thank you good ma'am, I try." He jokes and she swats him with the towel and he moves out the way, just enough. Asa mentally chuckles at his antics as she shakes her head. "I'm clocking out. Where's Mr. Wales? I need to ask him something anyways." She say as she casually strides to the sink, washing her hands with soap.

"He's in his office. You should hurry because I overheard him telling Camillie that he is leaving soon for an errand." Julio says calmly.

"Alrighty then. Have fun. I'll see you tomorrow, Julio. Night." She pats his shoulder and he holds the gaze. Julio is only a little taller than Asa, her standing at a whooping 5'3, and him 5'4. She offers him a small smile, her energy being drained from today's events. Julio has never shown any interest in women, for as long as she's known him. He never did tell her up front and she never confronted him about it either but she's almost certain he's interested in men. Not that it bothered her, it help their relationship as friends.

"Good night Asa." He says as she leaves. She hangs her apron in the closet and shuts it, walking down the poorly lit hallway to her bosses office. She knocks twice and a 'come in' emerges from behind the door. She creaks it open and closes it behind her.

"Asa." Mr. Wales sits up straight, taking in her features and sends her a smile.

"Mr. Wales. I was heading out but before I left I needed to ask a favor of you." She speaks, stepping forward to his brown, worn-out desk.

"And what might that be?" He cocks an eyebrow her way, looking her up and down.

"Well, my fiancé will be attending this gala for his business, and he would like it if I joined him. He got a promotion and I'd like to be there for him. Please, it's really important to me." She says, pleadingly. The light from the lamp in the corner lights up the room, not much, and the buzzing can be heard from it as he thinks it over. Wales never does much thinking anything over whenever it comes to her though, since she was never late, and was a hard-working employee, his favorite, not that he'd admit it.

"Hmm. What day is it for?" He asks, and his hand comes up to his small beard as he unconsciously strokes it.

"On Friday. I'm sorry I gave you such a short notice and I'll work more hours next week but please." She says softly, worried, trailing off at the end.

"Of course Asa. No need for the extra work you already do enough. Enjoy it. Have a good night." He kindly says and she lets out a squeal. "Oh thank you thank you!" A smile spreads on her face all the way up to her eyes and she leaves the room, with pride in her chest. Her night is definitely looking up. She navigates through the sea of dancing and drunk people and reaches the front door.
