Asa BenoistNo school today, Asa thought to herself as she laid unmoved in her bed. Graduation was close anyways, and she feared that she wouldn't pass, due to her skipping days and repeatedly showing up late. It was never her fault, either Shawn would be gone with her car and she'd have to take the late bus, or work would call in for a long shift.
"What to do." She asked herself as she sat upright, staring at the sun that dared to escape from behind the curtains.
I'll go shopping. I haven't even picked anything out to wear to Shawn's stupid gala anyways so why not go and get something nice? She wondered as she went on with her morning. She got ready and wore a plain blue off-the-shoulder blouse and white jean shorts along with her black heel boots that she wore all the time.
Asa poured herself a bowl of Cocoa Crisps, and plopped herself on the couch to watch tv.
After watching a random Simpson's episode, she left to catch the bus. The wait was a short 5 minutes and she was relieved, since it looked as if it was going to rain. The sun was clouded over with thick grey and angry clouds.
She gave the driver her ticket and sat in the front, right next to the door. Never ever does she sit in the back. After two encounters with perverted men feeling her up, she made a point to avoided it.
Around 10:00 AM she made it to the mall, taking a deep breath as she slung her bag over her shoulder. A shop with elegant dresses caught her eye pass the humongous water fountain, and she strolled inside.
The store was filled with them, and loads and loads of tuxedo's. A glamorous red dress with spaghetti straps and ruffles on the bottom caught her eyes and she wander over to it. "Hi! Welcome to Vintage Affairs, my name is Irene and If you need anything just let me know!" A pretty woman, no doubt the same age as Asa, perked up from behind the shelves. She was much shorter though, and had thick and long black, curly hair cascading down her back, with pretty olive-brown skin.
"Hey. How much is this one?" Asa asked, running one of her hands over the soft silk of the top of the dress.
"Oh, very pretty. That one is a good seller and around 26,500." Irene said, with a gleam in her eye. Asa immediately let it go, giving her a sheepish smile.
"Woah, that's my entire budget right there." Asa muttered to herself and Irene over heard her, giggling to herself.
"What's your budget, hun?" Irene said and took out a small ladder, hanging four short baby blue dresses on the wall. She effortlessly got down and stood next to her.
"2500. Or under. That includes shoes and accessories." Asa looked around a noticed a isle for shoes.
"Follow me. You are now my model." Irene took her arm and lead her to a rack, and began picking dress to dress, muttering things like, 'Perfect,' or 'To small,' or 'Maybe this one...,'.
It went on for 20 minutes and Asa was close to saying, 'I'll go else-where sorry for bothering you,' until Irene chirped out, "Done!".
"Thank goodness." Asa said as the two headed to the back of the store, to the fitting rooms. She tried on the first two and scrunched her nose in distaste, causing Irene to giggle and she returned into the cramped room, flipping through the dresses in her underwear.
Asa sighed and her hand ran over a gold one. She pull it out and gasped softly at the sight. It was a High Neck Mermaid dress with sequins. Absolutely stunning.
