Chapter 7

The last thing I remember from last night was falling asleep in Draco's arms and now i'm in the hospital wing.

I opened my eyes and there sitting next to me was James. He came forward to hug me, I embraced him back but at the same time my eyes were looking for someone else.

'I'm going to kill that son of a...' James shouted. I've never seen him so angry

'James, Draco didn't do anything' I cut James off and reassured him

'why are you covering up for him and since when do you call him Draco? I told you not to go to the detention didn't I....' James went on and on and on

He wouldn't shut up so I got him by the collar and gave him a big fat passionate kiss on the lips. That shut him up but as I was kissing him there was only one thing on my mind, Draco.

I broke apart from the kiss feeling a little confused

'i'm okay James, don't worry' i reassured him. I gave him another kiss on the lips and then the nurse sent him away.

The nurse checked me and said I was fine and sent me off too. I couldn't bother going to any of my lessons so I just went to to the common room.

I sat on the sofa thinking about my kiss with James a moment ago.

'why was I thinking of Draco as I kissed James? What's going on? I know maybe in was just thinking about Draco because I wanted to say thanks' I carried on arguing with myself until I came to the conclusion that I was only thinking of him because want to say thanks and nothing more. But inside I knew this wasn't the truth.

Time went by quite quick and I made my way to detention. Today we had to write lines again. I was sitting in front on Draco. The professor left the room for a few moments so I turned around to face him.

'thank you' I said cheerfully with a big smile on my face

'that's alright' he replied quietly without looking at me. He didn't look to happy

'you okay Draco' I asked

he gave me a quick look and put his head back down. He looked shock, I guess because I called him Draco for the first time then answered

'yes, I just have a lot on my mind that's all' he said and then got back to his line

I felt a bit weird, he wasn't talking properly and he didn't even look at me. He was acting as if I had done something wrong

'have I done something wrong Draco' I asked sounding a little hurt

'no' he whispered back, once again without looking at me

'then whats wrong'

'nothing, can you just drop it, I told you I have a lot on my mind and your not making it easier' he was almost shouting and looking me straight in the eyes

I then decided I better not say anything else but I was so tempted to talk to him. so I decided if i change the subject he might like to talk

'why didn't you come see how I was, I mean if it wasn't for you I would still be in the forest' I asked

'I did want to come and see you but your boyfriend was there the whole time ' he said angrily

'oh' is all I said. The moment was getting awkward

After a small silence I asked him

'can I ask you something Draco'

'you can ask me but it depends on your question whether I answer or not' he replied

'why do you always pick on James, why do you hate him so much. It can't only be because his a mud-blood. Lots of people in the school are mud-bloods and you don't pick on them so why James?' I asked curiously

He was quiet for a while

'I just don't like him, there's something about him I can't stand' he replied

I was about to answer him back but then he interrupted

'can I ask you something now' he was starting to look really serious. You could feel the awkwardness in the room. He looked me straight in the eyes with his deep grey eyes. I was lost in them. Then he asked me

'why James?'

'what do you mean?' I asked confused

'I mean why are you going out with James. You could do so much better but you decided to choose him, why?'

'my relationship is none of your business Draco' I replied

'I answered you question now you answer mine' he was getting a little furious it was almost as if he wasn't asking but demanding an answer

'this is personal Draco' I shouted back

'JUST TELL ME WHY YOUR WITH HIM!' he was so angry now and I could see that he was hurt. It all showed in his eyes

Just then professor Mcgonogall walked in and the room was back in silence.

Once the detention was over I tried to talk to Draco but he just stormed away in the opposite direction.

What just happened? Why was Draco behaving this way?
