Falling For You

"(Y/n) why are you here? The BAU is not a place for you." Aaron asks his cousin sternly.
The younger girl crosses her arms. "I've been training for this for years. I know I have what it takes. I'm not the girl I used to be, I promise. I buckled down and I can carry my weight."
"(Y/n) my team is my family too. I can't risk their lives because you're an amateur."
"Aarbear please. Give me a trial run then. Let me prove myself."
"I won't lose you too (n/n), I can't."
"You won't. I swear."
"Hey Hotch we've got a case." JJ interrupts and looks between the two. She smiles and walks over. "You must be the newest member. I'm Jennifer, but you can call me JJ."
(Y/n) smiles as she shakes her hand. "Nice to finally meet you. I can't wait to work with you and the rest of the team."
Aaron opens his mouth, but the sad look his cousin gives him made him close it again.
The three walk to the conference room.
"Everyone this is SSA (l/n). She will be joining us for the time being."
Hotch didn't want the team to know she is his cousin. He needed to keep everything professional.
(Y/n) on the other hand decided the team should know. "Hello everyone. My cousin has told me so much about all of you. I can't wait to get to know all of you." She places her hand on Aaron's shoulder so the team would understand he's her cousin.
The team looks at Aaron surprised and the tall man sighs.
"JJ tell us about the case." Aaron orders and sits down.
Getting over their initial shock everyone sits down and debriefs the case.
Soon after, they get on the jet and continue conversing about the victims.
After they finish talking as a group (Y/n) walks over to Reid and smiles.
"I've heard lots about you. And hope we can be friends. I'd love to pick your brain about so many things."
Spencer smiles at the girl. He enjoys her fresh, naive perspective.
Her eyes sparkle before she clears her throat and her demeanor changes.
A serious expression takes over.
"I'm sorry. I should be more serious. People are dying and here I am talking about being friends and acting like this is a vacation. Please forgive me."
Spencer sits up straighter. "No it's ok. It's nice to see a girl with a positive attitude and friendly personality. I hope we can be good friends as well."
(Y/n) blushes and looks away.
Aaron looks at his cousin and already he was regretting letting her come.

When they arrive they head to the hotel they booked.
"Rossi and Morgan you'll take one room. Emily and JJ. Garcia and (Y/n) you can take another. Spencer, you and I will take the last." Arron explains and everyone goes their separate ways.
Hours later (Y/n) is still pouring over the case file.
Her pacing was starting to make Penny anxious.
"Hey sweet pea could you pace elsewhere?"
(Y/n) blushes but nods. "I'm gonna go ask Spencer about this. If you need me feel free to come join us."
The blonde smiles and nods.
The (h/c) girl walks down the hall and knocks on the door.
No one answers the door so she uses an extra key to unlock the door and walks in.

She looks around and only one of the lamps is on.
Arron is asleep in a chair near the window.
A couple pictures and documents are sprawled on the table in front of him.
(Y/n) smiles gently at his peaceful face. When she turns toward the bed she sees Reid asleep.
He looks so adorable when he's asleep.
She walks closer, silently. She holds her files close to her chest as she leans closer to him.
His body moves up and down with his breath.
'He's so handsome' she thinks to herself.
A small blush comes back.
She takes another step but trips over his shoes, causing her to fall forward.
The brunette male is startled awake when (Y/n)'s lips collide with his.
Just as this happens Penny opens the door with a large smile, but is soon replaced with large eyes and a wide open jaw.
The two young agents quickly pull apart, not breaking eye contact.
The girl frowns and runs out of the room.
Garcia frowns and watches her leave, before turning toward her friend.
"I have no idea what happened Garcia. I-I was sleeping and all of a sudden she was kissing me."
"She told me she wanted to talk about the case with you." The blonde responds.
Spencer looks down and sees his shoes aren't where he left them. "Maybe she tripped on my shoes. This was all just an accident."
Penny smirks and nods. "Then go after her. She looked really upset."
The brunette nods and puts on his shoes then sweater.
Spencer checks her room to find it empty. He wanders around the hotel but didn't find her. Finally he checks on the roof.

"You did not just kiss Spencer Reid. You are a talented agent. You belong here. You did not just kiss Spencer Reid. Your cousin doesn't know so he won't kill you. You are a serious worker. You belong here. You can save people. You belong here." The poor girl paces back and forth, ranting to herself.
Spencer frowns as he listens to her.
Her struggle wasn't so different than his.
She's young and talented but others might see her as unprepared.
He didn't expect the kiss to happen, seeing as it was an accident, but he didn't dislike it.
Her lips are soft and she smelled like lilac.
After a bit the male walks over and places his hand on the girl's shoulder.
She jumps and turns to him quickly. "S-Spence. I'm s-so sorry."
He smiles slightly and sits on the edge of the roof.
She takes a deep breath and sits next to him.
"Ya know, I was 21 when I joined. I was a rookie and people questioned me all the time. I even questioned why I joined the BAU. When we save people I realize that's why I do it. I may not know much about you yet but I hope to soon. You may be scared and unprepared sometimes but we'll be here to back you up."
(Y/n) listens to him and smiles softly. "Thank you Spencer."
"You're welcome (Y/n)." He nudges her shoulder with his gently and she leans her head against his shoulder.
