It had been many years since he woke up.

6 years since Kiriga became the oyakata.

Only a few years since Kiriga's first child, Ubuyashiki Kagami, was born.

So now in year 1878, only around 35 years until plot starts moving and 21 or so years until Kamado Tanjirou is born.
