Mina comes rushing into the room, when she gets there she finds Conrad holding a crying Nic, Conrad looks up to find a nurse and her friend watching the two, he pulls away from Nic letting mina walk towards the bed, Nic lays back.

Mina: what's going on here?

Conrad: Nic had a nightmare but she is okay know.
Mina: okay I got paged because NICs heart rate risen to alarming levels we just need to make sure she is okay.
Nic: I'm fine know Conrad helped me and he made me talk to him.

Conrad: but I want to speak to people on the floor were the absent patient was being treated.

Nic: you don't need to do that.

Mina: what is going on between you two?

Conrad: Nic was attacked twice before she was found by Devon.

Mina: who and why would they stab Nic?

Conrad: no ideas but when I find a witness I will be having a quiet word and then when I find out who stabbed the mother of my unborn child I will kill them.

Mina: okay may I remind you that at the moment you are not an employee at this hospital so you can not speak to any of the staff about nic's assault, and at the moment the only reason you are in the hospital is because you are here as nic's next of kin and relative.

Conrad: I know I just feel powerless knowing that a patient managed to hurt a nurse and then run off, know I here someone else stabbed her and we don't know the reason why.

Mina: I understand and we will look into the missing patient and the mysterious dark figure who wields a knife or a jagged piece of glass.

Conrad: okay can you get a psychologist to come and speak to Nic maybe help her sleep instead of having night mares about the attack, since not enough sleep is bad for pregnant women.

Mina: I will but I need you to promise me to stay in the room with Nic and don't go looking for people to talk to, and keep her calm and rested and I will place the order for a councilor to come and have a chat.

Conrad: thank you.

mina leaves the room along with the nurse when the two know that Nic is out of danger, after mina leaves Conrad walks to the side of the bed he sits on the edge of the bed, as he sits down he lets out a big huff, making Nic look at him.

Nic: conrad don't do anything stupid please, and I have something else to tell you.

Conrad: what?
Nic: its about the patient who attacked me.

Conrad: what about him?

Nic: he is emotionally and mentally unstable the reason why he attacked me was he was scared and hurting someone was his only way of telling someone, he caught me off guard, plus I think he holds the hospital responsible for the way he is.

Conrad: why?

Nic: before I got hit I read the mans file he had a brain tumour removed years ago, but while he was on the table he stopped breathing, he was down for more than twenty minutes.

Conrad: wait you are saying Cain was the surgeon and he brought him back and kept him on the ventilator, until one day the man woke up, but know he has irreversible brain damage.

Nic: yeah and the man was let out to fend for himself, but then he couldn't cope and started attacking people, but I think he knows what he wants but he can't tell people, the only way is touching people but he doesn't know his own strength.
