"what do you mean we don't have much time?" percy asked as they ran towards the tunnel to make a quick exit. "we don't have much time!" she repeated, putting an emphasis on her words. "i just…got a feeling. we have to hurry." they nodded. feelings and dreams were a demigod specialty. when they swung into the car, they buckled in and bree turned back to look at her brother and percy. "so i thought i was greek, but i'm roman? and i now have a tattoo?" she held out her wrist as they pulled away quick. the symbol of hades shown vibrantly in black on her right wrist. percy and nico nodded, holding out their own. nico and percy had a total of four lines.

camp half-blood was quieter without the daughter of poseidon. the more frequent monster attacks decreased to a trembling amount and will's patients healed well. rachel was now well-rested, drawing pictures of the scenes. she opened her eyes to find that she'd drawn a scene of bree standing alone above new rome. her lips trembled and she ran to find annabeth.

annabeth sat in her cabin, reading a book, trying at least. her mind could not focus and her dyslexia gave her issues. rachel pushed open the door. "annabeth, quickly." she said.

annabeth knew better than not to listen to rachel. she followed the ginger hurriedly to see the drawing. when her grey eyes fell upon on, so did her tears. her hands flew to her mouth to muffle her wails of agony. she remembered what callista had dreamt, and now she had all she needed. rachel held her friend as she cried into her shoulder, nose running. minutes ago she'd been reading a book about the emancipation proclamation, now she sobbed hopelessly into rachel's shoulder. there wasn't enough time to reach california. all she could do was hope that she blessed by astraea was there too.

hazel looked into frank's eyes and he knew what had to be done. he grabbed her spatha from their shared desk and held out the handle to her. "thank you, love." she said and took her sword, hanging it on her waist. "i have to go." she said, putting her fingers to her lips and whistling for arion. she smiled at the thought of his eating gold peacefully, hearing her call, and being slightly irritated with her. frank kissed her quick and hugged her tightly. "good luck." he said, and she smiled at him. "thank you." arion snorted aloud to get her attention as if to say, hurry up.

she mounted arion and rode away. "we have to go find percy." arion huffed in agreement, and hazel held quick to arion as he dashed forward to find percy. by the time they caught up, the road had transformed into a dirt path up to a cliff above a beach. of course it was the beach, it was percy's element.

her frizzy hair flew behind her as they rode. faster, they watched the trio frantically prepare for the bloody fight ahead. she could see a metalic cage swinging over the ocean, a young woman sat inside with brown hair and ember-coloured eyes. it was hestia.

"you must save her and return home to the hearts of all." a voice said in hazel's head. "astraea?" she thought back to the voice. "yes, my child, it is i. now, you must make haste." the voice returned. she was the one blessed by astraea. hazel turned her attention back to the battlefield. a pair of giants stood by the cage, looming over it like skyscrspers. these giants were the size of two.

bree commanded their chaffeur to stop the car and they got out, scaping the land. how would they fight? nico tried his hardest to shadowtravel into the cage, but the giants' life force kept it inpenatrable.

the plan was kill the giants, cut the cage loose, and save hestia. now for the giants, they were like humans, just larger. the best place to strike would be the neck, achilles's tendons, and the heart. each demigod had close range weapons. it would be best for nico to try for the neck with shadowtravel, percy to charge the ankles, and bree, with her gymnastics, to go for the heart. the looked at one another and nodded as if to say, good luck, i hope you don't die out there. nico concentrated for a moment to use the darkness to travel before he noticed hazel's life force. this distracted him and threw him off.

he tried again, but it was too late to be right. percy was already cutting at the first giants ankles, who kicked him away and bree was scaling the other, who shook her off like a flea. the plan was now intricate and messy, but he'd have to manage. percy's angered bubbled in him like lava and he summoned a wave to pushed the giants around. that is when the giants noticed the puny demigods. "food?" one asked. "food." the other agreed. the giants began to fight back against the godlings and the godlings fought back harder. hazel had not yet made her appearance, but soon enough, she would.
