"What do you mean her powers haven't worked for weeks?" Tony roars.
"I can't explain it, Tony," Bruce says. "But I've tested Peter every way I can think of and there's no trace of inorganic endorphins in his system."
"Well, then why does he still think he's in love with her?"
"Because I don't think he thinks he's in love with her. I think he is."
"You see, I managed to contact Thor, and he says creatures with Y/N's abilities exist within the Nine Realms. He grew up hearing stories about them. And legend says there's only one way to truly remove their powers."
The billionaire rolls his eyes. "And let me guess, that is...?
"Someone has to truly love them. Not because of their abilities, but because the enchantment is weak compared to genuine affection."
Tony throws his hands in the air.
"I won't accept this. I can't. This is crazy. Peter does not love this girl. She knows it, I know it. It's impossible."
Bruce steps forward, but Tony is too far gone to be reasoned with now.
"Get her out. Put the tower on lockdown. I don't want her near Peter. Ever again."
Tony storms out of the room, already commanding F.R.I.D.A.Y., and as he leaves, Bruce pulls up the surveillance footage of Peter's room on the other side of the tower. There's still a bit of hope in his eyes. Hope that Mr. Stark was wrong. That he'd come through the door and you'd be with him, ready to greet Peter with a reassuring smile.
But somehow, he already knows that's not what's going to happen.
