Taeyeon opens her eyes to see Tiffany watching her. She furrows her brows and closes her eyes again, feeling exhausted physically and mentally.
An arm goes around her and she senses the other woman moving closer.
She huffs when a kiss lands on her forehead and lazily inches forward, until she's snuggly held by Tiffany, bodies pressed against each other. She exhales and nuzzles her girlfriend's neck.
"Morning," Tiffany softly says, one hand rubbing Taeyeon's back. She stayed in Taeyeon's room all night, sleeping next to her to make sure that she's okay after the meltdown. "How are you feeling?"
Taeyeon can only groan.
Tiffany waits a couple of minutes until Taeyeon is fully awake and says, "The parents called."
"Yours or mine?"
"Both. Yours couldn't reach you so they called me. I told them that you were shaken but that you'd pull through. I also told them to kindly respect your space. Hopefully they won't be too nosy."
"Thank you," mumbles Taeyeon who then moves back, looking at Tiffany with a frown. "Did you sleep?" she asks, noticing that Tiffany's still in her jeans from last night and the t-shirt Taeyeon lent her.
Tiffany nods. "Don't worry about me."
"I'm sorry about last night," Taeyeon timidly says, still feeling terribly guilty about what she did.
"Don't be. I offered, remember?"
"I shouldn't have put you in that position. From now on, I promise that I'll find a different, safer way to unleash my frustration and anger."
"You had a very rough night." Tiffany fixes Taeyeon's hair. "It's understandable."
"I'll be fine. It's your turn to unwind. Take a long bath if necessary, or nap if you want. Get some rest," Taeyeon tells Tiffany. "Wait. Aren't you supposed to be at work?"
"Took a day off."
"I can take care of myself."
"I know but I want to take care of you too," replies Tiffany with a smile. "I'll go take that shower. You can go back to sleep for another hour or so."
Tiffany rolls away, getting off the bed. She takes her shirt from the back of a chair, her phone and sees the mess on the far side of the room—where Taeyeon's phone hit the mirror.
"I'll ask Ahjumma to clean the broken glass, okay? Don't go near them," she says before she closes the door behind her.
Over an hour later, the two freshly showered women sit down to breakfast with Ahjumma fussing about Taeyeon like the worried mother of a fragile newborn.
Hojun arrives with a new phone for Taeyeon, to replace the one she broke last night. Then they return to the hospital because the chef's family are ready to move the body from the morgue to the funeral home.
Taeyeon calls her assistant, thanks her for everything she's done and tells her to take a week off after the funeral.
They meet Taeyeon's uncle at the hospital. He's there to check on his injured son who, unlike the chef, underwent a successful surgery although the young man is currently still in critical condition.
After they take care of the necessary administration, Taeyeon and Tiffany get in the car, following the chef's family who's in the car in front of them.
On the way to the funeral home, Taeyeon gets a call from her lawyer who tells her that the police are looking for her. They want to talk to her about the incident because she's not only the owner of the crime scene, she's also a witness.
