Tiffany giggles by reflex when a kiss lands on her jaw but doesn't turn her head to look. She continues typing on her phone, replying to her colleague's message, as they stand in the elevator going up to the penthouse.
Ever since she allowed Taeyeon to take things further physically last week, the girl has become much more affectionate—and Tiffany secretly loves it.
Her girlfriend would randomly place a hand on her knee when they're sitting next to each other, she'd steal kisses and hold her hand too. Tiffany's favorite, however, was when she was sitting on Taeyeon's bed, watching a funny video on her phone, and her girlfriend sat down behind her then without making a sound, placed her chin on her shoulder so that she could watch the video too.
It was so adorable that Tiffany couldn't help but smile, turn her head and kiss Taeyeon's temple.
The girl was surprised and she stared at her for a few seconds before breaking into a grin. Taeyeon then continued to watch the video from her position—her chin on Tiffany's shoulder.
Today is Friday and they just return from a nice dinner together and are looking forward to a weekend of staying at home relaxing but Tiffany's phone has been beeping with incoming message notifications since they were in the car.
Her colleague is facing a crisis because of a mistake he made and he's consulting her before he goes to the bosses to admit what he'd done. So even though Taeyeon isn't happy to see her constantly texting, she has no choice but to focus on this first before they can spend some quality time together.
"Done!" she exclaims just as the elevator stops and dings.
"Finally!" Taeyeon replies. She grabs Tiffany by the arms, making the girl giggle again, and pushes her out of the elevator and straight towards the wall.
"Déjà vu," mumbles Tiffany when she feels her back against the wall, arms raised and pinned to each side of her head by her smirking girlfriend. "So will this be a weekly thing?"
"I can even make it a daily thing if you want," replies Taeyeon, her dark eyes already focusing on Tiffany's lips. She bites her lower lip then tilts her head to kiss the other woman.
Unfortunately, before they could kiss, they hear a clearing of a throat and Taeyeon literally jumps, letting go of Tiffany who gasps in surprise.
Down the hall stands Taeyeon's mother, staring at them with arms crossed and an unreadable expression on her face.
"What are you doing here?" Taeyeon asks her mother. "I'm starting to dislike your sudden visits, by the way. Have some common courtesy and call first, please."
"You're the one who wanted to see us," retorts her mother, having received a text from her daughter earlier, asking whether she's available to meet on Monday.
"But not today. I said Monday."
The older woman ignores her daughter's remark and turns to walk inside the living room, knowing that the two will follow her.
Taeyeon is the first to move with Tiffany close behind her.
They see Taeyeon's father sitting on the couch and keep their distance by standing at the entrance to the living room.
"We know," Mr. Kim simply states, looking at the two young women with a small smile on his face. "We've known for a while and we're thrilled."
"We were right," adds his wife smugly. "Love will grow. You two are perfect for each other."
"Our compatibility does not and will not justify what you and the Hwangs had done to us both," Taeyeon says in a firm tone. "The end does not justify the means. It is a miracle that she's able to forgive, accept and love me like she's doing now."
