JUST JEALOUSY-WORTH THINGS

"You're back." the green-eyed boy uttered in surprised delight, his hands patting his apron as he stepped off the counter, a bright smile plastered on his face.

I clutched my laptop with both my arms, feeling groggy as I sleepily gazed at Caden. "It appears to be that way," I yawned. Caden only half-smiled before motioning me to come inside.

"Bad night?" he had said as I approached the counter, my eyes wandering around the menu board to see if there was a strong coffee combination that could battle off my fatigue.

"That too," I muttered. "It's all because of Jungkook." I added as an afterthought, to which Caden seemed to have caught perfectly. In this shop where only a few were lounging, perhaps that idea wasn't that far-fetched.

Caden chuckled. "Boyfriend problems. I see."

My eyes had immediately snapped up to meet my childhood friend's eyes, gleaming in curiosity. I was about to open my mouth to ask him something when I held the thought, lips popping open and then close.

"I would need the strongest coffee you have today," I say instead. Caden grins, before nodding his head and I take this as a sign that he knew what he was doing since he had immediately started making my drink.

I grumbled to myself as I practically dragged my feet off to find a seat. I found the usual spot I always sat at, and it was a spot I was at yesterday and the day before that as well. It had a good view near the window, and having to watch people can be a good distraction when I needed a breather.

Yawning, I leaned my back on the cushioned chair, my eyes groggily landing on people who were amidst the traffic bustle, phones and coffees on their hand as they fight their way through crowds.

Caden had came back minutes after, and in his hand was a tall glass full of coffee and whipped cream. My mouth almost watered. That looked really good. And I meant the drink.

"Here ya go," Caden slips the drink next to me, a proud glint in his eye as he handed me the drink. "It's on the house."

I was busy shovelling the drink down my throat when I stopped in my tracks, halting as I gaped at Caden who had his arms crossed over his chest in amusement. "For real?"

"Yeah, sure," he chuckled. "The drink isn't even out, anyway. I experimented a bit."

I slurped the drink. It was already half finished. "As long as there's no poison, it's all good." I grinned at Caden before happily slurping the whole thing up, to which Caden merely laughed at.

"Right," I paused, looking up at Caden who had looked at me expectantly, brows raised as he waited for me. "Can I ask you something?"

Caden looked confused. "Sure?"

"Uh," I cleared my throat, plopping down the glass of coffee I held in my hands. "Do you know a possible reason why..." my ears reddened as I bit my lip in embarrassment. "...guys call girls princess?"

"What?"

"Like, you know, princess princess," I said, growing a little flustered as I gestured wildly and flailed my hands around. I knew my cheeks were probably red, and I was probably sputtering gibberish to a friend I hand't seen in almost fifteen years. But Caden's a guy. So I was hoping he'd know.
