Fudging LOVE this picture......

"You have got to be kidding me." I tried the door handle again. No luck. I slumped down, defeated. How the heck did this even happen?

"We're gonna be stuck here forever! I'm too young to die!"

I turned and glanced back at the rest of my group. San was laying flat on the table and wailing his head off, while Yunho and Mingi were having an impromptu dance-off. Yeosang was skating around with his skate—wait, where the heck had he even gotten a skateboard? Wooyoung was reading an upside-down book. Seonghwa was busy folding paper airplanes with Jongho. And Hongjoong? He was sitting cross-legged on the ground, eyes closed, probably trying to convince himself not to murder the other seven kids surrounding him. I was definitely in the same situation as him. Then I heard a snore. Wait, no, he was actually sleeping. I retracted my former statement.

I sighed. We had originally met up at the university library just after our classes ended in order to finish our research projects. I was in a group with Seonghwa, Yeosang, Wooyoung, and Eliza—a girl who had left around two or three hours ago because she had just watched the finale of a drama she was completely obsessed within a class and needed to 'cry for four days straight because the main male love interest suddenly died.' To say I was disappointed in her would be an understatement. Either way, we had been putting together the final presentation for our topic on how exchange programs could foster appreciation for other cultures. It was rather ironic, since most of my group—Seonghwa, Yeosang, and Wooyoung—were exchange students from South Korea. Unfortunately, I understood absolutely zilch about the Korean language. That's why Hongjoong (and his group by association) were here as well; he served as a translator of sorts between my group and I.

That was when a paper airplane whacked me in the arm. I glared at Seonghwa, who immediately pointed to San. San, the evil perpetrator of this horrendous crime, was laughing his head off on the table.

I grumbled under my breath until I announced, "Guys, we need to find a way out of this library. It's already 12 am, and the doors are all locked." No one paid me any heed. So that was how it was gonna be. I took a deep breath.

"Guys, if you just keep messing around and not try to find a way out of this stupid library, I swear I will kick your a—" I was cut off unceremoniously by a flying jacket that hit me right in the face.

"Watch your language!" Hongjoong exclaimed. "We are trying to figure something out. It's just that everyone's a bit... preoccupied."

"Yes, of course! A dance-off is going to help us escape the library!" I huffed, rolling my eyes. My hair was a mess from the wayward jacket, but hey. Free jacket for me. I stuffed it into my backpack and searched around for my phone. It had to be here somewhere; nope, that was the bag of Cheetos that I had in case of emergencies. I just needed to call someone and... and what? It was too late to disturb anyone without being rude. I wasn't sure who could get us out of this situation. But it didn't matter; I just needed to message my roommate so she would know where I was and not panic. I felt the cool surface of the plastic and grabbed it. Yep, that was my phone. I pushed the power button, to no avail. Was it out of battery?

Oh, god. It was coming back to me now. I'd forgotten to charge it last night, and it was surviving on only 10% during class. It'd definitely be out of battery by now. Darn it. I internally screamed. This was not how I wanted to spend my night. Stuck in a dimly-lit library with seven—no, eight—crackheads; Hongjoong had joined in on the airplane folding cartel. They were all conversing in Korean, and I had no idea what anyone was saying.

How had we gotten stuck in the library? Surely a teacher or the janitor would have noticed nine people still in the room after closing? I shook my head in confusion. I only remembered drifting off multiple times while working on the actual presentation script. We were probably stuck here until tomorrow morning. I closed my eyes and sat down, leaning against a bookshelf. Just breathe in, out. In, out. It wasn't the end of the world. I slowly relaxed.
