Kevins PoV
I looked round and there was.......... "Joanne!!!" She ran and gave me a hug. "You said that you would stop with the random girls kev." "And i did. This is my girlfriend stacey." "Oooooh. So i think when mum goes to work i think we need a catchup and i want to get to know your girlfriend." I nodded and we went into my bedroom. Joanne came and knocked on the door. "Hang on why you home from school so early." "Ill explain later." "Ok." She walked back out and i pulled stacey next to me on the bed. "Whats causing the panic attacks bubs." "Because what if my mum dies and I'm not there. What if she thinks i hate her. What if i never get to say goodbye." "Well we will go and see her everyday before and after school and I'm sure neil will get you out of school if anything were to happen. Try not to panic too much. I know its hard but your going to end up making yourself really poorly baby." "Sorry." "Hey it's ok. You cant help what happens. Just try and breathe and not think about it. The more you think about it the more your going to stress out. How about we try and arrange for you to come home a bit earlier for a couple of weeks just until your stress levels come down a bit." She nodded and we kissed as Joanne walked in. "Not walking in on anything you two?" She smirked at us and i shook my head. "No actually." "Well anyways mums gone to work so i want a catchup. Come on." I helped stacey to her feet and we went and sat down on the sofa. "Right kev i want to get to know stacey." "Wow joanne demanding much?" "What i want to know what my little brothers been up to and how he met a gorgeous girl like stacey." "Well ummmmm you probably don't want to know." "Now i really do." I looked at stacey and she nodded. I'm glad she trusted joanne. "Right basically i was skipping school like normal and we were playing extreme never have i ever and i got dared to fuck Stacey to put it straight. She agreed for some reason and ye that happened ,neil found out hated us both-" "wait she's neils sister." "Twin sister yes." She laughed. "Now i see the resemblance." "Anyway he hated us for ages then his mum kicked her out so she lived with us and hasnt moved out yet that's a point. Anyway then we talked some sense into neil then a new girl came and is trying to split us up, then Connor and jack tried getting a piece of her then stacey can i?" She nodded and cuddled into my side. "So two years ago their dad died and now they found out yesterday that their mum is dying which is why we got sent home today because Stace Kees having panic attacks similar to what i had." "Really? I'm so sorry." She gave stacey a hug and i smiled. "Anyway how've you been kev. You stopped with the blade." I nodded and rolled up my sleeves. "And the girls." "I stopped that when I met stacey." "Skipping classes." "Also when I met stacey although we sometimes like maybe once a month slip off but only when we aren't feeling well." "We'll I'm here now so you go all the time unless you are dying." I shook my head and she looked at stacey. "Sorry." "No problem." I'm glad stacey was trusting Joanne at least I think she was. "Right stace are we gonna go and see your mum now." She nodded and we walked hand in hand down the road to neils. "Hiya mate." "Hiya bud you seem worn out." "I'm feckin knackered." "How did the appointment go." "Ok. They said they can't cure it but she's been given chemo tablets to slow it." I nodded my head but could tell he was lying for stacey sake. "Right stay here a min Stace." I followed neil and he flopped down on his bed. "Don't lie to me jonesy. I can tell you're lying. What actually happened at the doctors." "It went fucking shit. They've said within the next few hours it will spread to her brain. She will barely be able to survive a week. I can't tell stacey that. She'll be heartbroken." "Look you need to neil. She can't keep hearing stuff from me you're her brother. She wants to help you but if you're covering everything up she can't. You need to tell her." "You don't get it. I can't. You don't know how dad died do you." I shook my head. "I was being a twat and told stacey that dad was going to die. Stacey went out and got taken. Noticed how she doesn't go in cars." I nodded again. "Well that's why. Anyway the guy took her into this building and it set on fire. Dad thought Stace was still in there and ran in but a worker had found her tied up and helped her get out. The building collapsed on top of dad and he died. I joked that dad would die and he did. I can't tell her." "Well make up for being a thick rest and tell her the truth. She's not a baby n. She does have a brain." "But what if that brain can't cope with it." I shook my head and we went downstairs. Stacey was just looking at her mum. "Ok Stace? Want to know what happened at the appointment." She nodded her head. "But i thought you said she was fine." "I was lying. It went terrible. They've said within then next few hours it will spread to her brain and then she will be paralysed and lose basically all her abilities. They said she can barely make it another week." Stacey sobbed into my side and I rubbed her back. "Do you want to stay over tonight." She nodded her head. "Still go to school though sis." She nodded and I gave her a kiss. I got up to leave but she grabbed my arm. "Stay. Please." "Oh wang me to stay a bit longer or all night." "Tonight." "That ok neil?" He nodded. "I'll go and get you some stuff and I'll tell jo ok?" She nodded and I gave her a hug and legged it down to mine. "Hiya Kev. Where's stacey." "Her mum can barely make it a week so she's stayin over and I am as well. Sorry sis." "No probs." I went and grabbed mine and Staceys cloths for tomorrow as well as her some shorts and a shirt. I said goodbye to jo and legged it back to neil. He was trying to calm stacey down while getting his mums medicine and water. "In and out baby come on. Neil get yourself to bed. I'll sort it out." He passed me the water and medicine and I went and sat next to stacey and managed to calm her down. "Mum needs chemo tablets at half past and her paracetamol in five minutes." "Right now go to bed. I'll keep an eye on everything fans I'll wake you up in a couple of hours." Stacey fell to sleep and I could hear neil settling down upstairs. I checked the time and Helen (their mum) needed her medicine. I went and tried waking her up but she wasn't waking up. I checked her pulse and it was very very faint. I called Joanne told her to eat her ass here quick and then went and got neil up. "Neil sorry mate you need to get up. She's nearly gone mate. Quick." He jumped up woke stacey up who was now balling her eyes out and they all went and sat next to her.
