The incredibly annoying thing about being a shrinking violet is having closet habits. Not that I have a habit of keeping anything unspeakable in my closet, fuck, now I'm actually blushing...ugh...

It was a little known fact, that I, Alice Coraline Wise, am a caffeine addict. With a slight inclination to nicotine. But that is beside the point.

Finals are next week and the senior class is teetering on the edge of anxiety and excitement. Robes came in and were distributed earlier this morning along with appropriate cords and sashes. I imagined I would be blind by the end of graduation night after all the blinding camera flashes and hot lamps beaming down from the roof. There would be no seeing the Cali Coast. My last memory would be the interior of this disgusting Maryland school gym cauterized into my memory.

The final bell of the day rang and I began my journey toward the parking lot. Just as I was about to walk outside, a cool hand lurched out and grabbed my wrist yanking me backward. I looked at who had touched me to see it was my lab partner, Kelly, and I smiled awkwardly.

"Hey? Something I can-?" I started and she held a finger up.

"I would wait a minute," She laughed. "There a commotion in the parking lot right now."

"Commotion?" I parroted.

"Yeah...do you know Hector in Chemistry? Know of, at least?"

"Maybe?"

"He's got a cousin visiting. Don't know where from. But they are duking it out in the parking lot, The principal and some of the teachers are out there trying to break it up right now. Threatening to take away Hector's graduation walk!"

"I-er, appreciate the warning..." I laughed uneasily to Kelly. "But I've got practice if I'm late, that it's going to push me to close to curfew."

"Oh, that's right, you do all that boxing shit, huh?" Kelly smirked as I rested my hands on the exit and I snorted.

"Well, ah, not boxing. I kickbox and do a little BJJ. Dad has some connections out in Cali wanting to help me pick up on Krav Maga. I had dabbled in it for about two years when I was younger-Ugh, Kelly, why am I telling you this?"

"I dunno," She sang, flicking her brown curls over her shoulder and shot me a green-eyed wink. "Catchya' during finals!"

I pushed my way into the parking lock, quick to notice the throng of people blocking off access to my car. Everyone had their phones pulled out, taking pictures and recording. I sighed and began to wedge my way between them. Nobody stopped me. I could hear the principal and the teachers still speaking to the Hector and when I looked up...

"Oh my god," I groaned, they weren't just in front of my car... Hector was pinned face down the hood my car with this unknown stranger holding him, the teachers and principal speaking to him lowly.
