An entire month went by and corbyn never responded to the text message I sent him. I also didn't see him at the 'moon' ever since that night.I did see corbyn in class but he was so caught up in his own head he never even looked in my direction, he didn't even make snarky remarks anymore. It was as if I didn't exist to him anymore and he was perfectly fine with that.
Though I tried to forget about that night it was harder than I expected. Corbyn has caught my interest and I wanted to see him once again. I watched him continuously doze off during English class and his eyes fluttering shut trying to fall asleep. He kept trying to fight his sleep and was so distracted he didn't notice me watching him.
Suddenly his blue eyes met mine and I quickly looked away. The bell rung and I quickly stood looking back at jack and Jonah. They were play wrestling in the back of class were the teacher couldn't see or maybe just didn't care. I walked towards them and I could hear them discussing plans for after class today. "Breaaaad shop?" Jonah said dragging out the A causing jack to roll his eyes. "No dude, Daniel and I literally work there every day I don't want to go back again! Let's do something else."
"But I'm hungry for free food!" He complained, I turned and noticed corbyn grabbing his duffel bag and leaving the classroom. Something inclined me to follow so I did.I saw him diffing through his locker when I approached him. "Corbyn.." I spoke unsure what I was going to say, I just knew I wanted to talk to him again and there was no denying my own feelings. He closed his locker and looked at me holding a plastic baggie in his mouth with Cheerios inside because both his hands were occupied. I grabbed the bag from in between his tight lips and reached to put it in his jackets pocket.
I didn't know why he didn't think to do that in the first place.
He held out his duffel bag for me to grab and I took it watching him put his book bag on before grabbing his bag back from me again. He was wearing a grey sweater with some colleges name written in bold red letters and a black jean jacket over the sweater. Today his hair was flat against his forehead and he seemed to be sweating. "Hello Daniel." Corbyn said as he began to walk past me. I turned and followed beside him as he left the school beginning his walk home.
I was inclined to walk home today as well because I didn't bring my car. "You never responded to my text.." I trailed off not knowing where I wanted this conversation to go. "That was over a month ago."
"Well I was waiting.."
Corbyn stopped in his steps an annoyed look plastered on his face and his eyebrow raised.
"What do you want from me seavey? Don't think for a second I don't notice you starring at me during class or watching me during lunch. What exactly are you playing at, cause I'm no damn fool." Corbyn said intensely completely shifting the mood. "I'm not playing at anything..""No one is this nice, not even you Seavey." Corbyn argued and I frowned at him. "I like your art corbyn, so I like the artist. Is it wrong to want to befriend the artist of your favorite art? People always want to be friends with their favorite celebrities so think of it like that." I tried explaining and corbyns frown softened. "You don't need to get defensive, I only want to be your friend."
Corbyns eyes shifted to the floor shame clouding over him. "I'm sorry it's just... not used to this."
"Not used to what?"
