this chapter is gonna make you smile!
instead of leaving I took a seat beside corbyn. Corbyn huffed annoyed and it suprised me because corbyn was never the one to show attitude to me before. "You're really skinny." I commented for the first time out loud.
"I wish.." corbyn sighed. There was now only silence shared between us and I had no words to say. I looked over at him and he covered his torso with the towel still. "Have you ever talked to someone about it before?" I questioned breaking the silence, disappointment on my face to see that he was smoking yet again. "No, well once my brother asked.. but I'm fine."
corbyn was clearly lying but we had only met, there was no valid reason for me to be so invasive at the moment. So I dropped the subject, maybe his friends upstairs would talk to him about this at some point. That didn't stop my stomach from churning and feeling an immense amount of guilt. I watched corbyn continue to smoke and my guilt grew even more.
I took it from his fingers and put it out shaking my head. "You're just smoking just to smoke at this point." He looked at me confused " It's a habit, if you didn't want to see me like this you should've went inside when I asked you."
once more silence endures and corbyn looked awkward where he sat. He played with the Cheerios left on the table that he hadn't eaten yet before standing up. "I need a shirt, this wet towel is getting cold." He sighed standing leaving everything on the table. I grabbed his wrist and he looked back at me. "I'm sorry for being so invasive I didn't mean to make things awkward between us."
"It's okay I'm just glad we're friends now, right?" He asked with a wink and a smile grew on his face. His perfect smile was contagious and I felt my lips curve. "Do you want to look at the stars again tonight?" I asked and his face lit up like a lightbulb. He nodded eagerly showing his perfect white teeth. "I'll get dressed!" He ran inside and I followed behind and stood by the front door waiting.
In the kitchen which was only a few feet away I could hear his brother and the girl talking amongst themselves. "I don't like how corbyn is looking without a shirt lately." The girl said and I could hear the sadness in her tone. "I believe it's Corbyn's path and he can't be forced to be better. Also we don't have the best relationship if we push we can ruin what we have." Her brother spoke in a wise manner, but I didn't think anything he said was worth taking note of.
"We can't! We have to do something or what he's done might be irreversible-"I'm not a fucking kid." Corbyns voice interrupted now the room that was once filled with noise was absent. "Stop pretending to be my parents and just talk to me next time." corbyns voice sounded sweeter and I heard his steps getting closer.
"Where are you going?" Jordan asked but never received an answer.
"It's got cloudy! We're never gonna see them tonight." Corbyn complained trying to make the best of the situation but nothing was happening. The forecast only gave corbyn news for tonight and it made him unhappy. "Maybe if we go to the hill we could see them better.." he tried but there was no use. The hill wasn't that tall and it definitely didn't peak through any clouds. I rolled my eyes not really caring if the stars who peak from around the clouds because stars were never my interest. They seemed to shape corbyn and his fascinations although.
The skate park we sat at was empty and though corbyn wasn't aware, no one was allowed after dusk. We stood up and walked out of the park, I noticed corbyns fingers trailing against the fences as we walked in the comfort of his humming. I opened the trunk of my car to put corbyns telescope bag inside and a devilish smile formed on my lips . "Ever rode a skateboard?"
"Oh god! I can't I'm scared!" Corbyn cried out looking down at the small ramp he was at the top of. He covered his eyes and his feet stayed planted, he obviously wasn't ready but after getting the hang of riding without falling I assumed he would be ready for this. "Corbyn it's only three feet off the ground. Toddlers do this ramp man." I shook my head stepping up the ramp. I grabbed his hands and pried them away from his face.
Worry and furrowed eyebrows was engraved in corbyns expression. He was shaking and looked scared to go down the ramp and it made me chuckle. I stepped beside him reaching one arm behind his back and on his waist and the other hand on his hip. "If you go down, we're going down together." I whispered and corbyn nodded pushing down. With only two short steps we were down the tiny ramp and corbyn was still standing up straight a look of awe in his face.
"Ready for another?" I asked and corbyn nodded eagerly. He ran to a rather big ramp compared to the children's one and had confidence written all over him. "Are you sure you wanna..." I asked from the bottom as he looked down at me. "I can do anything, right?" He asked.
"Well yes, but time is also an important fac-"
with that corbyn pushed down the ramp and next thing we knew we were on the floor. Corbyn has crashed into me and he was now groaning in pain. "You can do anything with time! TIME!" I repeated frustration boiling inside me. I looked up at him and his eyes were gleaming in the moons light and he whimpered.
I noticed there was now a hole in the knee of his black skinny jeans and there was now an open cut with blood all over it "Oh corbyn." I shook my head and looked at him.Tears brimmed his eyes and his once happy expression was replaced with a sad one reminding me of a child. He bit his lip but eventually tears fell and his sniffling became audible. I stood up and rushed to the car bringing back my first aid kit that my sister had made me take the other day. Pulling out a wipe I began wiping and cleaning his cut. "Corbyn please don't cry."
but that didn't make his tears stop so he tried to look away so I wouldn't notice. I lifted my hand to his face and wiped away his falling tears with my index finger. He turned back to me surprised but I could feel his body leaning into the affection.
I moved my finger but corbyn never stopped leaning in
his soft and hazy pink lips now brushed against mine and at once he pushed them into my own.
we were kissing.
