I was happy with my win but I needed to shave off a couple seconds. Let's just say I was never satisfied with my times, I always wanted to be better. The best.
The next morning I awoke later than usual, about 8:30. I was supposed to go to lunch with my two best friends. Ugh I just wanted to stay home and eat cake and watch Netflix... Was that too much to ask??
I got up and watched "The Fault In Our Stars." I longed for a guy like Agustus Waters. Being 17 I think every girl did.
Then showered and put on jeans and a t-shirt and threw my hoodie on. No way was I not being comfortable.
It was about 11:30 when I headed out the door to Tyler's house. Tyler was one of my best friends. He was shorter than me but cute. He had dark hair with freckles lightly covering his nose. His eyes were brown and was just fun to be around. We had been best friends since 6th grade. Yea he was cute but more like a brother than anything. We had to go pick up Dianne and head towards Olive Garden.
Dianne had brown wavy hair, hazel eyes, heavy set, but beautiful. She had an amazing voice too. I had known her since 5th grade and introduced her to Tyler in 7th.
I honestly think Tyler has a 'thing' for Dianne. They always hangout, whisper, get close, spend most of their time together. I sometimes feel left out but it's adorable watching it. Love. They just don't know if yet.
I arrived at Tyler's about 12 and we headed towards Dianne's.
"Your late, ya know." He said casually turning the key.
"Yaaa..I was-" he cut me off.
"Watching the Fault In Our Stars.. Again?"
"Um yeah. I just want that so bad." I said.
"To die??" He replied with a crooked grin.
"OBVIOUSLY!! No, for someone to love me like that. Unconditionally."
"It ll happen." He said expressionless.
It was silent awhile, neither of us saying anything. I just watched the rolling hills and trees that's leaves were changing to green in the spring afternoon.
"I'm gonna ask her." He broke the silence.
"Huh?" I was officially confused.
"Dianne, im gonna ask her to the spring dance."
"Oh that's great!" I knew it. I was excited for them but realized I was probably the only person without a date. Oh well happens every year.
"Think she'll say--"
"YES! Its obvious she likes you."
"Just keep quiet, im gonna ask her at lunch today."
"Tyler you can drop me off somewhere before you get her. Make it more of a date." I gave him a smile.
"You kidding me? Um no your coming with us. I'm not going to neglect you just because we're dating... Hopefully."
"Trust me, she likes you."
He smiled at himself and drove on to her house, not saying anything more.
We got to her house and she jumped up from the porch, and squealed with excitement making me laugh. I got out and held the door open so she could sit in front with Tyler.
"You can sit in front," she said.
"Naw it's fine. Really!"
"Well, OK!"
It made me laugh how chipper and bubbly she was. Then we were off again...
..........
Finally, we arrived at Olive Garden. Yummy.
