The rest of the day was relaxing, I watched Divergent while drinking hot tea. Even though it was spring I still loved the relaxing feeling it gave you. 3 spoonfuls of honey and I was in heaven. I glanced down at my phone no missed texts. Oh well. I fell into a deep sleep.

I awoke to my phone dinging.

Hey, Mia right??

I picked my phone up, smiling to myself.

Yes, who else? (:

Well I was hoping you didn't give me the rejection hotline.

I'm not that mean! Lol

So, pick you up tomorrow? Hangout?

Suuurre

I gave him my address and he said he'd come around 10. It was now 9, might as well just go to sleep again.

.............

I awoke the next morning at 7 with sun pouring through my window. I pulled my legs up and wrapped my arms around my legs with my chin on my knees. I had fallen asleep with my hair in a bun. Pieces had fallen out and now dangled in front of my face.

I stood up and walked to the bathroom. Stared at myself in the mirror. A scar above my eye and one below my lip reminded me how wild of a child I used to be. Now I was laid back. Not spontaneous anymore. What happened? My spark was... gone.

I heard my parents downstairs being as loud as possible. I was still half asleep, so I got in the shower and stayed there for about 20 minutes, letting the warm water run over my sore body. I probably should have went running this morning but I was too excited to see Ashton.

I got out of the shower, throwing on a robe and wrapping my hair in a towel. I jumped on my bed and just lay there, with the sun now fully on my bed. I closed my eyes and replayed meeting Ashton. I think I fell asleep again because my mom came and knocked on my door.

"Breakfast is ready whenever you are," she said gingerly.

I groaned.

My parents only made breakfast on Sundays. Why I don't know.

I got up and put on a track T-shirt and jeans.

I went downstairs and the smell of bacon and pancakes urged me to walk faster.

I got to the kitchen and sat across from my little brother, Cooper. He was 8 years old and adorable, not annoying like most little kids. He had curly blonde hair with bright blue eyes. I had dirty blonde hair and blue eyes but not as deep and bright as his. We both shared one dimple on our right cheek. I imagine I was like him as a kid, he was wild but quiet, almost secretive.

"In hungry!" He shouted. And almost on command my mother plopped a plate down in front of him and his eyes grew wide and a smile spread across his face. He immediately picked up a fork and started eating.

"Got any plans today?" My father asked. He wasn't one of those dad's who always reads a newspaper at breakfast, he actually wasn't much of a reader. Big, buff, dark hair with strands of grey hair here and there.

"Yeah." I said nibbling on a piece of bacon.

"What're you doing?" He asked looking back at mom making breakfast impatiently waiting for his turn to get food.

"Gonna hang out with Ash awhile," I said trying not to sound worried.

"Is she a new girl your hanging with now? What happened to Dianne and Tyler?"

"Oh no, they're still around. Ash is actually short for Ashton... Ash is a boy..." I glanced over at Coop who was halfway through his pancakes and wasn't paying attention to the conversation.

"Oh," he said solemnly. "That's nice."

"Yeah I guess, he's going to school with me now and he doesn't know anybody so I thought I'd be nice," I glanced off into the distance.

Breakfast was ate mostly in small talk or silence then. Nobody was really a morning person except for me. I'd be up at the crack of dawn getting ready for my morning run. I wasn't much of a night owl though. I longed to sleep too much to miss the opportunity.

It was 9:30 by the time breakfast was over so I grabbed my book, not surprisingly, The Fault In Our Stars. I had read it probably 5 times. Same for Divergent, Hunger Games, and my new favorite The Maze Runner. I imagined if I was in the book I would be a runner, but that's a whole other story.

I walked to the door and pulled on my Nike's and walked out to the porch and sat on the step. My hair fell in front of my face in a silky curtain. I brushed it back behind my ear and opened my book.

I was captured in the words when he pulled up, my eyes couldn't pull away from the words. They were so in love, no matter how many times I read the book it hit me like waves hit the beach. You know it's going to happen but then so suddenly and then it's gone.

"Mia?" He said beside me.

I jumped at threw my book into the yard. He laughed and walked over to retrieve it.

"I'm sorry I was deep in thought," I said.

He bent down and picked the book up, running his fingers over the cover, studying it. "Nice book," he replied.

"You read it?" I asked.

"No, I'm not big on reading," he stated and handed me the book.

"Well I recommend it to you, I've read it probably a million times."

He smiled, "Alllllright."

I stood up and walked to the door, book in hand, and opened the door, setting the book on the inside table.

"IM LEAVING NOW, BE BACK LATER, LOVE YOU!" I shouted through the house.

I shut the door and walked towards him smiling, "OK where we going?"

He smiled back,"follow me."

He walked towards the car and opened the passenger door and held out his hand.

I walked forward smiling up at him and placed my hand on top of his and sat down in the passenger seat folding my hands in my lap.

He walked around and got in the drivers side, then looked over at me.

"Ready??"

"Oh I'm more than ready."

He grinned and started the car and began to drive.

Little did I know my journey was now beginning...
