(A/N: Just imagine Cyborg from Teen Titans Go! saying that incorrectly that one time. Can't remember what the episode was.)
It has been a couple of days since the coming home party for the younger Pines' twins. They have been settling in and setting up their stuff for the summer ahead. Dipper had brought his journal from his previous summer with him and wanted to keep documenting his new findings in town while also using it as a personal diary.
Mabel however had brought a variety of items, all of which didn't surprise Dipper: A large amount of yarn and sweaters, women's hygiene (which was actually understandable), large assortment of sweets and finally Waddles. Who may not count as luggage but large enough to where they had to use an animal crate when they took him somewhere.
The two were currently in their bedroom taking some "Me time". Dipper was writing in his blue journal while Mabel was knitting another sweater. She's recently made a quick buck in selling some of her sweaters, helping her to pay for many things that she wanted.
She was not the only one to impress them however as Dipper has also been doing some paranormal research for fellow classmates and teachers. And as time progressed, Dipper began to realize how many people have had interactions with the paranormal. It almost made him made stay home in Piedmont and keep investing but there was only so many paranormal hot spots within a 20-30 minute radius near his home that one of his parent would be willing to drive him, let alone his parents letting bike to on his own.
As of currently, Dipper was writing about his endeavor at the welcoming party, noting how odd it was to see Pacifica with a boyfriend. He always thought that she wouldn't be interested in dating or being in a relationship until she was in high school whether by her choice her parents'. Dipper couldn't help but feel a little jealous.
Not because for romantic reasons but because during the school year earlier that year, Dipper was asked by Mabel if there was any girl he could date, he chose Pacifica Northwest. She would be one of the few people in Gravity Falls who would be willing to deal with the weirdness with him, creative, smart, confident and to top it off, adorably pretty.
He began to consider asking Pacifica out until he was stopped by his sister, noting that simply asking a girl out just because he was interested wasn't exactly the best idea. While being interested is a start, it's not the only step. There needs to be a true love or having a moment between them. Making sure he wanted Pacifica, but he wasn't sure.
He's spent the past few months questioning himself and his psyche. However, he was worried that if he waited too long, she would be taken. And now she is.
"You ok there, Dipper?"
"Yeah, why?"
"You're writing angrily on the journal again."
He took a look at the words written on the pages. And oh boy, did it show his jealousy.
"Pacifica has a boyfriend now and I'm honestly a little jealous."
Way to be subtle, Dipper.
"You sure you still don't have feelings for her?"
"Yes, I'm sure. I'm willing to bet there was a guy you were willing to date someone but ended up being taken."
"Touché. I'm sorry, Dipper. And I didn't take you for a jealous type of person unless you were crushing on someone."
"No, it's just that I thought it was time for me to get a girlfriend and I thought Pacifica would be a good option. Maybe she was but it's too late. For all I know, he could be the one for her." He responded.
Mabel could relate to his gloomy mood as she's had her heart broken in the past. Although Dipper's heart wasn't exactly broken, something definitely hurt. He's gotten a new interest in dating since... since when?
"What's with the sudden interest in dating, Dipper?"
"Because... as much as I hate to admit it, I'm all alone here. You have all your friends at school, but I don't even have a best friend here my age. And my friends- who at this point are acquaintances- I mostly see them with their friends, girlfriends or best friends andgirlfriends. I'm all alone here. Just because I'm an introvert doesn't I always like being alone. Just want someone to appreciate the real me and won't judge me or make fun of me. I want to be loved, y'know?" He said spoke with a slight quiver and slumped into his bed.
Mabel's eyes were wide open at Dipper's open feelings about his social life. Mabel and their parents would always leave well enough alone abhorrent is friends due to him not having many friends. However, at that moment, she could only walk over to him and give him a comforting hug. A hug which he reciprocated as his hat fell to ground.
"And I guess that Paz could've been someone that would love you?" Mabel asked.
"Yeah. We had a few moments last year and I considered asking her out during the school year. Looks like I'm too late now."
"It's ok, Dipper..." she whispered gently.
"It's ok."
