Trouble I'm In - Twinbed

I wanna feel your touch...

It's burning me like an ember...

Pretending is not enough...

I wanna feel us together...

"You look stunning in this lehenga," I tell Jennifer, who is wearing a traditional red lehenga for her wedding

"You look stunning in this lehenga," I tell Jennifer, who is wearing a traditional red lehenga for her wedding. She smiles shyly. "You are even blushing like an Indian bride," I tease.

All of us are wearing Indian attire. It's really colorful and vibrant. Melissa ordered our clothes from India a month ago. Our hands are covered in henna from the mehendi ceremony we celebrated, and the sangeet (music) the other day. I wore a dark green lehenga that complements my eyes. It has golden embroidery. The first time I wore it during the dress fitting, I almost became dizzy, twirling around like a kid.

"I knew my son would convince her to marry him. He would have stayed on his knees until Jennifer said yes," Melissa said when she showed us our attire a week ago.

Jennifer's mother came. I stepped back and watched as she helped her daughter with the makeup. Jennifer's mother looked so happy. It feels so good to see her in a healthy state. I think she has enjoyed the wedding the most, apart from our hyperactive groom, Ranveer. Jennifer told me it's been so long since they have been to a wedding. After everything with her mother, all their relatives have avoided them like the plague. They were not invited to any family gatherings or weddings.

We walked toward the gazebo-styled mandap, where Ranveer would be waiting for Jennifer. Daphne, mom, Jennifer's mother, and I were holding a red veil from all four corners above Jennifer, escorting the bride toward her groom.

'Din Shagna Da - Jasleen Royal' played in the background. The festival was fun, especially when Jennifer had to put a garland on Ranveer's neck. Axel and Ranveer's cousins held him up so she couldn't. After many failed attempts, Jennifer gave a look to Karan, Ranveer's cousin, hinting if he didn't bow down, she might give it to Karan. Ranveer immediately lowered his head, and the guests burst into laughter.

After the last rituals were completed, the three-day marriage event came to an end.

*****

Our marriage in the church had very few guests; only the close friends and family members of both the Ahuja's and Knight's were present. Jennifer and I lacked our family. I missed Mr. and Mrs. Finley a lot. Kabir walked Jennifer, and Matthew walked me down the aisle.

The priest nearly choked on his saliva when Axel spoke his thoughts out loud. When he saw me, "Damn, baby. You look edible!" My eyes became saucer-like wide, and Axel stuck his tongue out, realizing his mistake.
