Ava and I had talked for awhile about her and Carter. I was sad that I had to find out the way I did, but she said she didn't want to jinx it by telling anyone, so they had agreed to wait. I could understand her hesitance. Dating your brother's friend was never easy, but when you also work with said friend and your brother is Travis, it adds a new level of difficulty. There was a knock at the door a short time later and it was Travis. Ava hung her head and I got up to leave the room to let them talk. I grabbed his hand as I walked out.
"Go easy on her Teeks, let her explain before you explode. I'll see y'all at the game." I kissed his cheek and blew a kiss to Ava before walking out to my car to head to Tyson's hotel for a nap.
I texted Tyson and told him I was on the way to the hotel and I had barely knocked one time before the door swung open and he was pulling me inside and dragging me to his bed.
"Hi Mikko." I laughed as Tyson dragged me passed his bed. Mikko waved and shook his head with a smile before scooting down on his pillow and plugging his phone in before turning over for his own nap. Tyson stood by his bed and pulled the covers back, gesturing impatiently for me to climb in. I giggled before climbing in and scooting over to the side nearest to the wall. Tyson quickly climbed in behind me, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me close and burying his face in my hair. I heard him sigh contently and smiled to myself as I heard his breath even out almost immediately. He was so tired. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and set an alarm for me to get up before laying it underneath the pillow and falling asleep just as quickly.
I woke up to the sound of my alarm and tried to quickly turn it off before it woke up Tyson and Mikko. I turned it off and slowly climbed out from under Tyson's arms, in his sleep his brows furrowed but he stayed asleep. I got up and noticed Mikko sitting up smiling at me.
"Sorry, I tried to turn it off before it woke you up." I said sheepishly, grabbing my shoes and sitting on the edge of Mikko's bed to put them on. I smiled when he threw his arms around me for a hug and laid his head on my back.
"I miss having you around Jaz. Nobody can replace your hugs." I sat up and turned around so I could hug him properly. "See." he said smiling into my hair.
"I miss you too Moose. It was better for me to leave though."
"I don't think he'd agree with that." he nodded towards Tyson.
"I know. He'll get there. It's not like we will never see each other or anything, and we talk everyday. He's still gonna be my best friend forever." I say leaning my head on Mikko's shoulder as he rubbed my back slowly.
"I know he'll be okay, its getting him there that's the trouble." he smiled.
"I'm sure you're up to the task. You always were." We sat there for a few minutes not talking before I sighed.
"I gotta go, I gotta get ready for the game. They won't be happy if I show up looking like this." I laughed quietly as Mikko walked me to the door. "Tell him I'll see him after the game. EJ said we were all gonna go hang out or something." he nodded and kissed my forehead before shutting the door quietly.
Once I got home I quickly took a shower and changed into game appropriate attire. I dried and straightened my hair and was looking around for my shoes when the doorbell rang so I ran downstairs to answer the door since my mom wasn't home. It was Nolan.
"Hey Nolan what's up? I was just finishing getting ready and gonna head to the arena." I said walking into the living room to put on my shoes, him following behind me.
"Uh, I was gonna see if you wanted to ride with me to the game?" he said his voice low and quiet. Was he nervous? I remembered what Travis had said about him liking me too and tried to push it out of my mind. There was no way.
"Yeah that'd be great. I'm supposed to go out with my friends from the Avs after the game, but I can take a cab home or something. Unless you wanted to join us?" I asked a little shy. "I'm sure we're just going to a bar or hanging at the hotel or something." he shook his head.
"Me and TK were gonna hang at the bar I think so I could drive you home after if you wanted. Or you could just stay at our place tonight. I'm sure TK and Ava wouldn't mind." I smiled.
  "OK, I'd like that."
We drove to the rink with the radio playing quietly and we laughed and joked around the whole way. My face turned bright red when we pulled up to the parking lot and Ava and Travis were standing there, seeing us pull up together. They both smiled slyly as we climbed out of the car.
"Didn't know you two were coming together." Travis said, his eyes dancing with mischeif.
"Yeah I offered to drive her. She's gonna come hang at the house after the bar tonight if thats cool."
"Its always cool, she'll have to stay on the couch though or Trav's room, Carter is staying the night tonight." Ava blushed still not used to their relationship being out in the open.
Ava and I were sitting down on the glass during warmups, her camera poking through the camera hole and she took pictures while still managing to keep a conversation with me without pause. Amazing. Travis made sure to skate by and throw snow up on her lens near the end of the warmups and she stuck her tongue out at him before pulling the camera back to wipe the lens off.
"I think I got enough anyway, lets go put these on the computer." she and I walked quickly to her office. During the game she usually sent the photos to my phone so I could post the game updates and highlight videos from the press box since there wasn't room for both of us down on the ice with the ice girls and the reporters down there. Once her photos were on the computer and I had posted some funny ones of the guys on social media, I hugged her and went up to the pressbox. I usually sat alone or with whoever had been a healthy scratch that game, so it surprised me when I opened the door to see Nolan sitting there. I wasn't sure where he normally sat during the games, but it wasn't in here.
"Sorry," he said, his cheeks turning red. "I normally sit down in the media room and watch, its darker, but I felt okay today and wanted to see if I could watch from up here. I can leave if you wanna be alone though." I shook my head.
"No I'm glad you're here. It gets boring when I'm alone sometimes." I smiled at him as I sat down in the chair next to him.
We watched the game intently, only talking during stoppages and intermissions but it was nice to have someone to talk to besides texting Ava. Flyers and Avs were tied 4-4 in the 3rd and went into overtime. I jumped up and screamed and hugged Nolan when Travis scored the OT goal, winning the game for the Flyers. I was so happy I didn't even notice the way his arms were wrapped around my waist and how close his face was until I turned to face him and we were inches apart.
"Nolan, I.." I started to say before his but his hand under my chin and lifted it so our lips were almost touching.
"Shhh." he said as he pressed his lips to mine gently. The kiss only lasted a few seconds, but I was breathless and my heart was racing when he pulled back and smiled at me.
"I've been wanting to do that for awhile now." he said making me smile and my cheeks burn. "Go ahead and update the thing, I'll uh, I'll be waiting in the car. Wherever you need me to drop you off." he smiled again and walked out, his cheeks as red as mine. I smiled to myself before updating the social media pages with the footage of the goal that Ava had just sent me.
