It was seven minutes after the wake-up call that they joined us outside and the commander looked at his watch and hummed in disapproval.

"Seven minutes is much too long to take getting ready if you were being attacked" he said and then turned and walked off with us all following him "seven extra additions to everything that we do today: miles, weights, exercises, et cetra." This caused the two husky Furs to groan and the female Panther Fur to growl in annoyance.

"Do you have anything to say about this?" the commander looked at the two huskies and they shook their head, then he looked at the female Panther Fur, the Purple and Black Wolf Fur, and then at me and seeing the three of us expressionless, and indifferent he smirked a little and then walked on. "Don't fall behind" was all the warning that he gave us before his walk turned into a light jog, and we all rushed after him, matching his pace.

At the end of the jog I was barely able to feel my legs, and I couldn't seem to get enough air into my lungs. I bend down, hands on my knees, and strained to breathe.

"Aw look at that, the little human is having a hard time with a little running" the Black tipped husky said and I glared at him and stood up straight.

I stuck my middle finger out at him and turned to face his shocked and humiliated face, but he regained his composure and stalked up to me with tight fists.

"Oh you little--" he didn't get to finish the sentence because the commanders elbow suddenly came out of nowhere and rammed into his throat.

"I'm sorry were you trying to fight your team mate?" he said slightly amused "I don't think you want to go into the water room do you?" At that the angry expression that the huskies had vanished, replaced by an unknown fear that I didn't understand. What was bad about a water room, sprinklers?

"Don't you think that you'd be escaping something similar either human" the commander said "just because he's mouthing off to you doesn't give you a reason to provoke him and give him a reason to try and kill you"

I didn't look at him when he spoke to me, so he came around me to my front and grabbed my jaw to make me look at him. His claws bit into my skin, and I'm pretty sure that they punctured underneath as well, but the everlasting pain of my other injuries was much, much worse compared to a few scratches.

"Understood?" he growled and I looked him in the eye and nodded, glaring.

"Good. Now the day isn't over yet, and I hope you're not hungry because we're going to be out here until the last ten minutes of lunch time" he said, "if you do well maybe I'll think about letting you off early for lunch time." Then he decided that it was a good time to start running again, and we all hurried after him as he shot off.

Come lunch time we were all sweaty and tired, and when we got to the cafeteria there was already a long ass line of Furs waiting to get their food. I stepped into the line behind a Blue striped Grey Wolf Fur and he looked back at me and bared his teeth. The other Furs ahead of me let other Furs in, and I practically didn't move forwards in the line at all. It took a half hour for me to even get to the five up front spot, and I saw a Black and Red colored Fox Fur lean over the counter and whisper something in the server's ear, who was a White Lynx Fur mixed with something else, Leopard maybe.

They looked at me directly, snarled and moved to the back to grab something. Great, guess that I wasn't going to be eating lunch here today. A door in the back area, on the side wall leading to what I guessed was the back of the kitchen opened and out stepped the exact same Lynx mixed Fur. It stalked up to me and I saw it's hand open, its claws ready to open some flesh, but as it's paw came down towards my only surviving eye a black one stopped it. I looked over shocked, the female Panther Fur was defending me?
