*These first few chapters were not my idea, but inspired by another story called 'Stars in Your Eyes'. I did not try and copy, but did something remotely similar to the first few chapters of the story, so I give credits to the writer of that!!*
December 9, 1969
I woke up to someone poking me in the face. I opened my eyes and saw it was Freddie. I groaned and slammed my pillow over my eyes hoping to get a bit more sleep.
"Darling, we're going to be late to your brother's wedding if you don't hurry up," Freddie said in my ear.
I groaned and sat up. I'm going to be a bridesmaid in his wedding, and I'm so excited. Freddie is best friends with David, so he also got invited as a David's best man.
"Fred, could you grab my dress and put it in the back seat of the car for me while I do my hair and makeup."
He nodded and grabbed my dress out of my closet. I got up and out of bed. I put on a romper and started to do my makeup like Lisa wanted me to. Not too heavy, but presentable. While I was doing that I heard Freddie come back in and rummage around the kitchen a bit, this made me chuckle.
Once I was finished with my makeup, I decided to curl my hair up. I decided to do bigger curls so that my hair could hold it a lot better.
Since I'm talking to myself, I might as well repeat my whole life story since I'm bored. My name is Abigail Mae Johnson, I was born in NYC, but moved to London when I was just a little girl. Freddie became friends with my brother when they were young, but they got distant after while. Me and Freddie became really close, closer than him and David ever were. What else is there to me, um, those are pretty much the basics to me I suppose. Oh and look at that, I'm finished.
I finished curling my hair, and grabbed my things. I went out to find Fred munching on some cornflakes. I rolled my eyes and chuckled and I grabbed my keys and we were on our way to the venue.
"Park there darling, no one is over there," Freddie said. I nodded and did as I was told, even though Freddie didn't drive at all. I grabbed my dress and went to the back room for the bride and bridesmaids was.
I met up with Lisa and we chatted a bit before I went to go change into a magnificent ocean blue dress. It was long, and had a slit in the side of it. It was laced up by the shoulders, it was absolutely admirable.
"Abby, you look amazing!" Lisa exclaimed. I thanked her because I felt like myself, and I haven't felt like that in a while since my ex of a year and a half broke up with me two weeks ago. It hit me hard, but I'm up and doing better because I don't need a shitbag like him in my life.
Once we were all finished getting completely ready, we all gathered up because the wedding was about to start. Once it started we walked down the aisle one by one. I was the second one up, so I got myself together and did it. I felt so many eyes on me, but that didn't stop me from feeling confident about myself.
Once I got up on the stage I looked in the crowd of people and saw Freddie on the other side of the stage. I gave a little smile and wave and he gave me a toothy grin.
As the wedding began, Lisa came down the aisle with her father. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress. I looked over at David and saw him tearing up and getting emotional. I know I'm only 19 right now, but this is what I really want someday.
I looked at a few of the rows, getting sidetracked at all the people. They had a lot of guests, a lot of them I knew, and some I didn't.
I must've been staring at the crowd for a long time, because once I snapped back into reality, the ceremony was over and David and his new wife were now married.
The reception was in a different room, so I met up with Freddie and we went over to the reception party. Freddie grabbed my hand and we walked in the loud and crowded room. We stood there for a second unsure of what to do until Freddie saw someone he knew.
"Oh hang on darling, I see one of my friends. You can come if you'd like," he said.
I nodded and followed him through the crowd of people until we reached the other side of the room. Freddie must have a good eye if he could see his friend all the way from the other side.
"Rog? What are you doing here?" He asked.
His friend turned around and that's when I realized it had been the blonde angelic one that I was staring at the whole time. Oh my god, Freddie knew him? How did I not know this.
"Oh, well Clare knows Lisa so we were invited. I really don't want to be here, but she made me come here."
Freddie chuckled and they made casual chitchat. I saw my mum and dad and waved at them. They came over to talk to me a bit, but as we finished our conversation, so did Roger and Freddie.
