I watched as Abby opened and closed the door behind her quickly. I stood there for a few seconds before heading back over to Fred's. I really wish how much that girl knew I fancied her, I almost got my balls frozen off for her if we're being honest.
I walked the whole way back by myself, remembering that I had a fucking date damnit. I've known Stella for a while, we've been good friends since school. Tonight is a night that I've seen her act way different than I'm normally used to seeing her. She's never made out with me or she never used to cling on to me.
Abby probably just thinks that I can't keep it in my pants, which before I reunited with her I couldn't. Every now and then I get a good shag, but I can't help but feel guilty for them not being her even though she wouldn't shag me. I know she thinks I'm just trying to go out with her for the sex, but it's not true. She's got a personality like no other girl I've met. She's sassy and she can be really caring and sweet at times as well.
I went back to Fred's flat where I didn't enjoy the rest of the night as much, trying to avoid Stella at all costs which I know probably isn't right.
••
I woke up the next morning with a pounding headache from all of the alcohol that I had consumed the night before. Don't even get me started on trying to get out of bed, I felt like I couldn't fucking move.
The phone rang, and as it did I groaned. I got up slowly and went to answer it. Who even calls at this time in the morning, oh wait it's one in the afternoon, never mind.
I answered with a groggy "Hello?"
"Roger I've been trying to call Freddie all morning, do you have any idea where he is?"
I immediately shot up when I heard Abby's voice from on the line, "I'm not sure, when I left the party last night he was completely pissed so he's probably just passed out. I'm sure Mary's taking care of him if that's the case."
"Oh okay, because he comes to my flat every morning and so today I was just worried that something had happened."
She's so cute, "You two must be really good friends then, hm?"
"Yeah, for sure. He's the only person I trust besides my family."
We chatted a bit more which surprised me, but I'm not sure if she remembered anything that happened last night.
"Say, don't you have a date with Matthew today? Wouldn't wanna keep you," I rolled my eyes.
"What, who's Matthew?"
Oh fuck.
"A bloke me and the boys hate that chatted you up last night, you agreed to go on a date with him. I just assumed you were trying to make me jealous because I had brought a date."
"Oh no! I don't even remember who he is if I'm being honest, although I didn't forget about our little moment. I rather enjoyed that. I think it's Matthews number I found lying on the table, didn't know who's it was. I'll call him to cancel."
"Alright, but one more thing. What did that kiss mean?" I asked.
"It can't mean anything, plus I don't want to date you remember? I'm sorry if I'm giving mixed feelings, but there's no way to change my mind. You just can't keep it in your pants, and you love on other women. We can be friends though."
"Friends who kiss?" I smiled cheekily.
"No Roger," she chuckled, "Just friends."
I chatted with her a bit more before letting her go, but I'm really surprised that she even called me this morning. She could called Brian or Deaky, but she called me. I thought she was still pissed at me because of last night, but I guess I was wrong.
I hate the fact she said that we could be just friends, I want to be more than that. I can't change her mind, so I guess I'll just continue to charm her as much as I can in order to try and win her over.
