Screech? Screech.

Nico, Alex and Magnus walked over to the big pond and waved at the rest of  the Greeks/Romans. Percy led the swan boat back to the pier and they all climbed out laughing. The dark-skinned girl with the curls and the golden eyes was looking a little seasick, but she smiled up at the big, Asian guy (That for some reason reminded Magnus of a panda). Their names were Hazel and Frank, he remembered. Annabeth walked over from Percy to Magnus.
"Was there any reason you waved us in? Did you miss us already?"
She said as she smiled and put her hand on her hip. The sunlight made it look as if her hair was a halo of light around her head.
"No" Magnus replied.
"There is a place we want to take you, or, need to take you", he continued.
Annabeth raised an eyebrow.
"What kind of place?"
The rest of Annabeth's friends noticed the conversation and turned towards Magnus. He looked at Alex to make her explain, but she just looked back at him. He cleared his throat.
"Uhm, so Odin, the king of the gods, had a weird vision recently. We don't really know anything about it, but he told us that he saw someone who needed help, our help. And we needed theirs. He said "I trust you five to find them". And then he went off to gossip with his ravens", Magnus told while watching their reactions.
"So yeah, we think you are the people from his vision," Alex concluded and pointed at them with both hands while saying it. She added:
"We're actually quite sure".
Percy nodded thoughtfully, "That sounds like the beginning of a quest. And isn't it just typically the Fates, to give us a quest just in the beginning of our vacation?".
The others agreed with nods and low murmurs about the lack of sympathy that their "Fates" had. The pretty girl with the kaleidoscope eyes looked up. Her name was Piper, if Magnus recalled correctly.
"Okay, I understand that that guy had that vision with us in, but where are you going to take us?" she asked and flicked her choppy, brown hair with a turquoise feather in it over her shoulder. She gave off a serious Do not mess with-vibe. She continued:
"And you said he said "I trust you five", who are those other three?". Magnus felt an unexplainable urge to answer every question she asked, and it kind of creeped him out. He was about to answer when Leo asked another question. It wasn't directed at anyone in particular, just asked out in the air.
"Does ravens gossip?"

"Yes, they do. They gossip a lot. Very bad gossipers. Especially Odin's. They are the worst" Alex warned their new friends.
"They're also neat-freaks and very serious about coming to battle at time" she added and tapped her wrist where a clock would've been.
Feather-girl raised an eyebrow and tall, blue-eyed blondie straightened his glasses. He was standing next to Kaleidoscope-Eye, but to far away for them to be a couple. He seemed like that perfect, hero, leader type of guy. In other words, Alex already found him annoying.
"You didn't answer Piper's questions. I'm curious too", he stated with a Californian accent.
As if Alex hadn't noticed that. However, it was Magnus who answered Blue-Eye,
"Well, we're going to Valhalla", he explained. Then, he quickly added "Mortal entry, of course", before anyone would think they were going to kill them.
"And those other three? They're our friends. We probably should find them so we can tell them that we've found you", he went on, turning from Feather-Hair and Blondie to Annabeth as he spoke. Obviously that was what they needed to do, but Magnus forgot something important.
"Magpie, we've got no idea where they are. They can be anywhere in Boston. They may not even be in this world".

This raised some questions among in the group of non-einherjar. Piper and Jason wondered why they just didn't call them on the phone. Hazel, Leo and Nico wondered what other worlds existed. Frank wondered for a second what magpie Alex was talking to, before he realized that it was a nickname for Magnus.

Magnus looked over at a group of birds sitting in a nearby tree while answering Alex.
"Where do you think they would've gone? Folkvangr? Alfheim? I don't think so". He was a little distant as he spoke, as if he was more interested in the birds than their conversation. Piper found it strange, but even more when he said:
"Talking about magpies. Does any of you have any shiny objects? Any coins, aluminum foil, nails or stuff like that?".
Leo pulled out some shiny metal bolts from his belt and showed them to Magnus.
"Does these work?" he asked while tossing them to Magnus, who catched them with impressive speed. Magnus held one of them in his open hand. It glimmered beautifully in the sun.
"They're perfect" he said, then walked over to the birds and said hi. The birds screeched back at him, like normal birds, but Magnus seemed to understand them perfectly. The conversation, if you could call it that, went like this:

Magnus: "Hi there, magpies"
Magpie: Screech
Magnus: No reason to be rude!
Magpie: Screech
Magnus: Been a bad day?
The magpie "talking" gestured with its wing.
Magpie: Screech screech
Magnus: Oh, I see. Anyways, can I ask you and your friends for a favor?
Magpie: Screech?
Magnus: I've lost my friends and I need to find them, can you help me?
The magpies all pointed their wings in direction Piper and the others. Both Magnus and the magpies looked like they wanted to facepalm themselves.
Magpie: Screech
Magnus: No, not them. I'm looking for three persons. A big, burly guy, a girl with red hair and a guy in a blue uniform. Can you and your friends fly out and see if you can spot them? Please? It'll be like a real life game of Where's Waldo"
The magpies didn't look interested in a real life game of Where's Waldo.
Magpies : Screech.
Magnus: I've got new, shiny bolts
The magpies suddenly looked interested.
Magpies: Screech?
Magnus showed them the bolts in his hand. One of the magpies, seemingly the leader of the gang, came closer to inspect the bolts.
Magpie: Screech.
Magnus turned towards Leo.
"Do you have some more of those?"
Leo pulled out some more shiny bolts from his tool belt and tossed them over to Magnus, who showed them to the magpies. They screeched among themselves and seemed to come to a conclusion. The leader magpie jumped forwards to Magnus.
Magpie: Screech
Magnus: Thanks! Appreciate it. Here's your bolts
He put the bolts on the ground so the magpies could pick them up and fly away with them. Then he walked back to the group.

"Is that why you call Magnus Magpie, Alex?", Hazel asked. "Because he can talk to them?"
Alex looked at Magnus and raised an eyebrow, "Actually, I can't remember why I call you Magpie. But I think I did it before you could talk to animals".
Magnus raised his shoulders and looked back at her, "Can't remember either".
"You can talk to animals? That's cool", Frank asked Magnus, a little fascinated. "Is it one of your demigod abilities?"
Magnus scratched his neck, looking a little uncomfortable.
"No, it's a long story".
Alex grinned and said: "Long story short: Maggie was stupid and licked dragon blood off his fingers"
Magnus sent her a death glare. It was obvious to Hazel that he was a little embarrassed by the story. He changed the subject and they had a brief conversation about how Hazel and the others ended up in Boston (Chiron suggested that they all went on a reunion trip. They ended up randomly choosing Boston as their destination), before one of the magpies came flying back and landed on Magnus' shoulder. It screeched and he lit up.
"Thanks! That's great", he exclaimed.
Magnus looked at the group of demigods.
"Our friends are at the Thinking Cup. It's not too far away from here, and we can take a little visit to the Chase Space on the way from there to Valhalla".
Jason looked at Annabeth, linking her surname to the name of the "Space".
"Chase Space? What is that?" he asked interested.
Annabeth smiled proudly at Magnus and Alex,
"The Chase Space is a shelter for homeless kids that Magnus and Alex runs in the Chase family mansion. I'm just a co-owner of the building, or technically the only owner, since Magnus is dead. Anyways, I really wanna visit because I haven't been there since I was like, ten"
A shelter for homeless kids? That was a really nice thing, Hazel thought. She'd seen the homeless kids when she grew up back in New Orleans, and how they struggled. It was nice to hear that someone cared about those who needed it.

The group of mixed demigods took the trip to the Thinking Cup by foot. When they got close, our firecracker friend saw something he"d hoped he'd never see again in his life.

"A Germani!? I'm out"
Leo turned on the heel and proceeded to walk in the opposite direction the second he saw the huge, burly and bearded body standing by the cafe. He'd had enough Germani for a lifetime. As if a Germani wasn't enough, this one seemed in a bad mood, talking with a loud, angry voice to someone Leo couldn't see. Piper tried to pull him back, but as he freed himself from her grip, he heard Percy say something.
"Is that- is that Rachel? What's she doing here? And is she fighting with that Germani?", he asked. Leo turned around to see if this was true. What he actually saw was very little, as all the other demigods were standing in front of him. He walked around the group, only to find a guy pointing his rifle towards them. The guy looked at them through the little aiming-thing and pointed the rifle at each of them until it landed on Magnus. He put the rifle down in his lap. With the rifle out of the picture, Leo now noticed that the guy wore a blue uniform. A huge grin spread across the guy's face as he waved at them.
"Hey, guys! Looks like you had better luck than we had!"
