" You're not to go out!", screeched Gran as I was about to leave. I stopped and closed my eyes in frustration. We had been arguing this past week and it was getting annoying. I knew she was scared about what would happen to me.

She knew I was still seeing Stefan which she didn't like. She hated the gypsys now. I tried to tell her Stefan wasn't like that but she didn't believe me.

" I'm just going to get some fresh air."

"Don't try to fool me. You just want to see that gypsy."

"....who I happen to love."

" He's using you, I bet you he is. He's slept with you once and believe me, he'll trick you!"

I stared at her. She never talked like this. She liked Stefan once. But, I couldn't blame her.

I ignored her and left. I needed to see Stefan. He was the only one who could do anything to make me feel better.

I hated staying at home. The flat was horribly empty and silent. Gran just slept or screeched most of the time. No one turned on the radio or the news channel. Ben was looking after the tea shop. Hester had stopped coming to the shop. No one really saw much of the gypsies anymore. The protest had come to a stand still.

Gran was sobbing by the time I got down the stairs. My eyes stung but I shook the thought away and walked out.

I went over to the woods and crossed over. Stefan had told me not to go over because every one in the camp had found out that I wasn't a gypsy. But I badly needed to see him. No one was around so I sneaked into the caravan. I froze. I couldn't believe that Gran was right again.

There was Tara on top of him on that bed. She was in her bra and her jeans were open. Stefan was clothed but his face was blank.

"YOU JERK!!!!!", I screamed and ran out.
