A couple of months later.....
Stefan left that evening. We spent the day together and then it was time for him to go. We didn't really talk on future plans. We needed more time for that. He barely had enough money to talk on the phone
He barely answered his phone because he was so busy. Naturally I got worried. I understood how long distance relationships could be hard.
In the meanwhile, I scraped through with the final A levels managing just 1 A and 2 Bs and a C but I still got accepted into Nottingham because I had good marks in my previous exams and the protest increased my portfolio.
So Gran and I were celebrating with a bottle of wine and then there was a knock on the door. I ran and saw him standing on one knee holding a small gold ring with a single diamond in the centre.
" it's an antique....and I hope you say yes."
Of course I did. And that's what brings me here. I'm in the carravan waiting with Hester who married Onas a month ago and she's already 2 weeks pregnant. I'm wearing this white strapless gown that is madly long. The top half is mainly stone work and grey embroidery of roses and flowers. Gran helped me make it. I forked out a fortune on the highest pair of white stilletos not that anyone was going to see them but still. My hair was curled and swept to one side. Nana came along and placed a tiny bunch of white flowers and then we made our way to the community centre and I got married in a first class gypsy wedding. Every thing was glittery and I danced for so long with Stefan. I don't know if my moves have improved but I enjoyed it.
So it was decided, Gran and me were moving into the Kumpania. Nana had got fond of her and asked her to move in to her trailer with her. Most of the kumpania had accepted us but a few were still a little doubtful.
Stefan came bumbling along with his gang. Apparently the first night a couple spent together was a really big thing......don't ask. It creeped me out. There was a lot going on. The bed was spattered with roses and I'm pretty sure the others had got up to some kind of prank because they were all smirking. Stefan didn't seem to mind.
" Well, lets hope you have a good night", said Marko and he pulled the others. I started shivering.
Stefan waved to them.
"I'm not sleeping here tonight", I said.
"Nor am I", he said calmly peeping through the blinds.
"Huh?!!!"
"Okay lets go", he said pulling my arm. Thank goodness I had taken off my heels because he pulled me out of the door and into the woods.
We finally ended up in a place that felt moist.
"Where the hell are we?", I asked.
"Wait a sec...", he still had hold of my hand but we had stopped and he was staring out. "Ah there it is", he said. He lead me to the border of the clearing. We stopped. I saw some light. We walked further into the trees. My mouth fell open. He had decorated the old tree house with fairy lights and candles. There was a large mattress inside sprinkled with rose buds.
He hitched me up and followed me.
I stared.
"Oh my Gosh..Stefan it's so beautiful."
He smiled. "I was hoping it would be. " I stared. I felt shy. It must have been the longing in his eyes, the lust he had held in for so long. I looked down. He took a step forward. I stood rooted to the spot. He clasped my hips and pulled me in. He tilted my chin up with his hand. I smiled softly. He smiled, leaned in and kissed me on my lips letting everything out. He then lifted me in his arms and placed me on the mattress. We barely slept bit it was definitely a good night and the start of our new life together.
