Heyo my dudes and dudettes, hope y'all r healthy! But like no school so YAY! (Lots of time to binge anime)
I hope you enjoy chapter 10!
Izuku stumbled forward, his right hand running along the hard material that made the wall. He looked down at his shoes in a weak, tired, and hazy motion he took step after step, unsure of his destination. His tears kept flowing and he was forced to clear his vision with his free hand multiple times, by the time Todoroki happened upon the smaller boy, his left sleeve was damp with tears and snot.
Todoroki's eyes widened with he found Izuku blankly staggering in his direction. "I-Izuku? What are you doing? Are you okay?" He called out to him, worrying as he watched his unsteady soulmate.
Izuku looked up at Todoroki with red puffy eyes, tears still steadily flowing out of them. "Todoroki..." he cried. "Ah, I found you..." he looked down, relief filling him up. He took a deep breath, and looked back down at his red shoes. He shifted against the wall, sliding down it and finding his way to the floor. He took his seat and folded his legs against his chest, crossing his feet over each other at the same time. He leaned his head forward, and used his hands to aggressively wipe away his tears.
Todoroki, unsure of what to do, decided to make his way over to him, bending down in front of the boy. Cautiously he moved one of his hands up to the other's face, ignoring the sudden emerald color in his eyes as their skin touched. He rested his palm on his cheek, his thumb doing it's best to clear up the rapid flow of tears. Then, using his fingertips, he moved a few lose stands of hair from his face, and behind his ear. "What's wrong?" he asked as his eyes followed his own hands. He looked back into Izuku's eyes searching for an answer.
"I-I-I-I'm sorry," Izuku's lip trembled with his words. "I'm so sorry!" He wrapped his arms around the boy, shifting onto his knees to do so. He continued to cry into his shoulder, and Todoroki moved his hands to rest on his back.
"For what?" Todoroki whispered the question into Izuku's ear.
"For a-avoiding you, and... and just everything!" Izuku stumbled out the words, not even sure what specifically he should apologize for. Honestly, he was ashamed by all of his recent behavior towards his soulmate. "I'm sorry!"
"Shh, it's okay." Todoroki said gently, closing his eyes and rubbing his hand back and forth on Izuku's back. "You didn't do anything wrong. Okay?"
"O-okay." Izuku buried his face further into Todoroki, until he was almost resting on his chest.
The two boys sat in the hallway for a while after, staying in each other's embrace. No more words were exchanged, but Todoroki tried his hardest to calm his soulmate, whispering comforting words into Izuku's ear. After a few minutes, Todoroki pulled away, making eye contact with Izuku. "Do you want to go somewhere more private?" Todoroki asked softly, hoping that Izuku was ready to open up to him.
Izuku simply nodded, letting Todoroki help him up. "How about your room?" Todoroki suggested, hoping he would feel more comfortable if he was in his own familiar room. Izuku gave the same response, and the slowly made their way there.
Once there, Izuku unlocked the door, walked inside, turned on the lights, and sat on his bed, fighting back the urge to wrap himself in his warm blankets, thinking it might not be the most appropriate action right now. Todoroki followed, closing the door behind him. He set his stuff down by the door and stood in the middle of the floor, not sure where to go or what to do from there.
"You can sit down, if you want." Izuku offered, patting the part of his bed that was next to him. Todoroki took his offer, awkwardly sitting down on his bed.
"I think we need to talk," Todoroki said, breaking the weird tension.
Izuku looked away, nodding, saying a simple 'yeah.' But Izuku didn't feel much like talking, he'd never been good at it. So with a blushing red face, Izuku impulsively, took Todoroki's tie, pulled him down, and smashed their lips together, surprising both himself and Todoroki. He pulled away quickly though, resting his head against Todoroki's chest, and clenching the fabric of the other boy's shirt he whispered quietly, "I like you."
Todoroki's eyes had widened when Izuku kissed him. And only did they relaxed when the newly spoken words had sunk in, confirming his suspicion. He felt himself smile, and rested his chin on Izuku's head. "I like you, too." He responded, kissing his head.
Izuku smiled softly, feeling more relief than he's sure he ever had before. He looked down at Todoroki's hands, shifting his fingers to lace together with his soulmate's. "I won't run away anymore. I promise." He muttered.
Todoroki used his free hand to tilt Izuku's head up, his index finger on his chin. "Good." He leaned down and kissed him again. Then he kissed his forehead, then his cheek, then his eyelids. He pulled their still intertwined hands up and he kissed the back of Izuku's hand, staring into his eyes during the process. Then he brought their lips together again, finding his way inside Izuku's mouth. Izuku blushed wildly, but kissed back.
When they pulled apart, both boys where out of breath and smiling at each other. They leaned forward, foreheads resting against each other. Todoroki freed his hand from Izuku's embrace, and took both Izuku's hands in his own. He took a breath, looked into Izuku's eyes with a smile and said, "Izuku Midoriya, will you go out with me?"
Izuku chuckled a bit, "It would be an honor, Shoto Todoroki, to go out with you."
"Wonderful." Todoroki grinned, "Then I'm happy to claim you as my boyfriend, Midoriya."
"Same here." Izuku responded, letting out another light laugh.
