Angel stared at the small, brown, fuzzy bear lying in front of her, and suddenly she realized what was wrong.
She looked at her husband, sleeping peacefully beside her.
She leaned up next to him, smiling.
" I have to leave," she whispered. " But don't worry, I'll be right back."
Hesitantly, she grabbed the warm, furry bear from its spot on the ground.
She closed the door quietly behind her, hearing it softly click against the wooden frame.
She stepped into the hallway.
Nervously, she reached a small, freshly painted door at the end of the corridor, painted sapphire blue and decorated with white clouds.
She pushed it open.
She walked over to the bed where a tiny, chestnut haired child lay peacefully sleeping.
She pulled up a chair.
Sadly, she lifted the bear from out of her arms, and into the arms of the sleeping girl.
"This will be hard to part with," she thought. " But i'm too old for it now. It now belongs to my beautiful daughter."
She struggled with words, trying to find what to say to her sleeping child.
Finally, it occurred to her.
" To my strong, beautiful daughter," she said. " I know sometimes life can be hard, and difficult. You are going to face many challenges in your life. Know that things don't always go the way you planned, and that sometimes, you will have to lose. But what do we do when we fall? We pick ourselves back up, and keep moving forward. Be the strong, beautiful person I know you were meant to be. Love, and always be kind, even when others may not be. Always remember that I love you."
She smiled.
She whispered softly into her ear.
" Don't listen to what anyone else says," she told her.
" You are perfect to me."
Quietly, she left the room.
