Kylo's POV

My eyes fluttered open to see a beautiful figure lying peacefully in my arms. The warmth of her embrace washed a wave of comfort over my entire body. For the first time in a long time, I'd slept peacefully through the night, and it was all because of [Y/N].

[Y/N]! What would she think if she woke up in my arms?! We hadn't fallen asleep that way; it must've happened subconsciously in our sleep. This wasn't right. I was her superior. I slowly removed my arms from around her body, careful not to wake her up.

I stood up and just watched her for a minute. She seemed so at peace when she was sleeping, the definition of innocence. I knew I couldn't let anything happen to her. She needed to be safe. I would have to be harder on her in training, so she can better protect herself. So she can protect herself from me.

Thoughts from the night began flooding back into my memory. How she selflessly came to see how  was doing when she was the one in pain. I knew I couldn't keep her away from her family forever, she'd find out eventually. I just wish I had more time to secure her loyalties before she did so.

Someday she'll leave. Just like everybody else that comes into my life.

I pulled my cloak over my training attire and grabbed my lightsaber. I gave [Y/N] one last look before heading out the door. Some extra sleep couldn't hurt her.

I started down the corridor and ignored the usual "Commander" I got whenever inferiors passed me by. My steps were quick and with intention as I had sensed Snoke requesting to meet with me. I opened the door into the unnecessarily spacious room to see his hologram already lit.

"Supreme Leader," I addressed him, kneeling to the ground.

"Ah, Master of the Knights of Ren, so lovely of you to join me," his voice echoing for miles.

"I sensed your request, Supreme Leader. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I have sensed a disturbance in the Force. Do you know what could have caused this?" he questioned as if already knowing the answer.

"I do not," was all I had the courage to say. His looming shadow taunted me.

"Hmmm, you must watch yourself, Ren. No good comes from the light, only weakness. Your anger is your power. And your hate is your strength. Find it. Use it. Or there will be consequences." And with that, he vanished.

Weakness? I have no weakness! And I'll be damned if I let anyone believe such a thing. I felt my heart rate begin to increase and my blood start to boil. I needed to release this anger before training, before seeing [Y/N].

[Y/N]? Was she the weakness he spoke of? She's not a weakness, she's just a pathetic little girl, an inferior. She means nothing to me. And there's no way in hell I'm gonna let a nobody threaten my position in the dark side.

At this point, I had decided to embrace the rage, let it consume every part of my body. My anger is my power and my hate is my strength. And it'll all be here, waiting for her.
