Tattoos.
That's all I see, and then the forest falls into darkness again and I don't see him anymore.
'Dude,' he says, coming closer. I'm frozen in place.
This is my first human contact after escaping the hell I left behind.
This is the real world, and this person is my first contact.
I don't dare say a word till I see him properly.
'You know these are illegal grounds. You shouldn't be here,' he says, coming closer. I can hear his footfalls from the ruffling of the leaves as he slowly progresses towards me, and I can't help but ask:
'Then why are you here?'
He freezes.
I think he's shocked.
'Bloody hell,' I hear him whisper.
'You're a girl,' he says. He sounds amazed.
'Come. Let's get some light,' he mumbles, and then walks past me. For some reason, I follow him. I don't know anything, anything at all about him. Yet here I am. Doing this.
But maybe he can help me.
Just maybe.
Fingers crossed.
We walk quite deep into the forest but then we reach a sort of camp.
There's a blanket on the floor, covered with another blanket, and there's some things in between that I can't see. They're lumpy and sort of flat. There's a backpack next to it and a large, bright, light-emitting lantern.
I can see everything around me.
I turn to look at the guy.
And my breath is taken away.
Damn.
He looks young, maybe older than me. He's not wearing a shirt, only cargo pants and a golden chain around his neck. There's a bandanna on his head and his skin is tan. His entire chest is a mixture of muscles and abs and tan skin and sweat and tattoos that come from beneath his pants, go over his torso and even up his neck. Tattoos everywhere. On his arms and fingers.
Everywhere.
His hair is completely straight and golden and his eyes are chocolate brown. His overall physical shape isn't quite as impressive as Dominic Archer's, but it's still gorgeous.
'Like what you see?' he smirks at me as he catches me checking him out.
I blush furiously and feel my entire facing heating up.
'Um...' I mumble. He comes closer to me and I look at him, wide-eyed.
'I definitely like what I see,' he whispers, and if I wasn't blushing before, I am now.
I have never been complimented before.
'T-thankyou.'
He chuckles.
'OK. Now. Tell me how the heck you came here. Cause it's not fucking easy to pass the goddamn fencing system they have.'
Should I tell him?
There's no reason not to.
'Um, I came from the Army base,' I said, looking back at my plastic box as if it was proof.
