Bughead: coffee & kisses

Chapter 6

Betty was working at the coffee shop, she'd had class that morning and was now working her shift. The lunchtime rush was over and The coffee shop was pretty quiet. Betty was wiping down some tables when the door opened and jughead walked in. "Juggie!" Betty grinned and hugged him. The two of them had become really close, and they liked each other but were just yet to admit it. "Hey betts" he smiled. "What are you doing here?" She asked. "Erm..coffee?" Jughead teased and Betty blushed. "Oh right! Sorry!" Betty blushed and walked around the counter. "Black coffee?" She asked, already punching it in, and he nodded. "Thanks betts" he said. He watched as Betty moved around, making his coffee. "Here you go!" She chirped, handing it to him. "It's on the house" she added, before he could hand her the money. "Betts..." jug sighed. "It's on the house" she repeated. "Thank you" he said, and without thinking, leaned over the counter and kissed her cheek. He pulled back with wide eyes and Both of them were blushing. "So, how was class?" Betty asked, changing the subject. "It was okay, handed my assignment in" he explained. They carried on talking until some more customers came in and demanded Betty's attention, so jughead finished his coffee and waved goodbye to Betty.

When Betty got home that evening, she opened the door to find Veronica cooking in the kitchen. "Hey v!" Betty greeted. "Hey B, how was your day?" Veronica smiled. "It was okay" Betty shrugged. "How was yours?" Betty asked. "It was good, class was cancelled so me and Archie went shopping" she said. "Sounds fun, what are you cooking?" Betty asked. "Just some pasta" Veronica said, stirring the pot. "Do I have time to have a shower?" Betty asked and Veronica nodded. "Yeah! Take your time!" She smiled. Betty made her way into her bedroom, grabbing some sweats before heading into the bathroom to take her shower. Betty took her makeup off before jumping in the shower and letting herself relax. After having her shower, she changed and joined Veronica for dinner. After dinner, the girls were sat on the couch, drinking wine while talking. "So..." Veronica started with a smirk on her face. "You and jughead?" She said. "What about me and jughead?" Betty said, faking innocence. "Don't play dumb B" Veronica laughed. "I've seen how you two look at each other, you like him" she said. "I..I don't" Betty stuttered. "Betty" Veronica said, sternly. "Okay fine!" Betty said. "I do like him" she admitted. "He makes me smile and laugh and...I don't know I really like spending time with him" Betty told Veronica. "Then tell him B!" Veronica said. "I can't! He doesn't see my like that!" Betty argued. "Betty that boy is head over heals for you" Veronica said. "He isn't,  Boring, he deserves someone better" Betty said, quietly. "Betty... you're amazing okay? Anyone would be lucky to have you" Veronica smiled, hugging her.

The next morning, jughead was on his way to class when he bumped into Veronica in the hall. "Jughead! Just the person I wanted to see!" Veroncia smiled. "Hey Ronnie" jug waved. "So why did you want to see me?" Jug asked. "Look..." Veronica started. "I'm not saying this to be meddling but I know you like Betty" she said and jughead was about to interrupt when she cut him off. "Don't lie we can all see it" she said. "And don't tell her that I said this, but Betty likes you too but she thinks she's boring and not good enough for you" she exclaimed and jugheads eyes went wide. "WHAT?!" He spluttered. "How could she think that?!" He said, utterly confused. "Because of the environment she grew up in, she doesn't think she's enough" Veronica explained and jugheads heart ached for Betty. "Now please...talk to her, let her know that she's enough" Veronica said before walking away, leaving jughead to his thoughts, all about a beautiful blonde...
