In the weeks that followed, the four friends who lived across the hall all grew closer. They would often chill in one of their apartments, they age lunch together in the campus cafeteria and spent their weekends mostly together; so when Veronica came home one day and told Betty she was going on a date with Archie, Betty wasn't surprised. "I can't wait! We're going to this really fancy restaurant! Oh my god?! What will I wear?!" Veronica yelled and rushed off to her bedroom. After almost two hours Betty had finally helped Veronica to decide on a dress, shoes and how to wear her hair and makeup. "So what will you do tonight? Hang out with jughead?" Veronica smirked and Betty shot a glare at her friend. "I'm going to get some homework done actually" Betty said and Veronica rolled her eyes.

At 8pm there was a knock on the door and Betty went to open it. "Hey betty" Archie smiled. He was wearing a suit and had a rose in his hand. "Hey arch" Betty greeted and opened the door to let him in. Before either of them could say anything else Veronica came out of her room. "Wow Ronnie you look great!" Archie said handing her the rose. "Thank you Archiekins, you look dashing" she smiled and kissed his cheek. "Bye B! Don't wait up!" Veronica said over her shoulder as they left. When the door shut Betty let out an exhausted sigh and went to get her laptop to do some work. She sat on her bed and pulled out her books and all her papers.

After a few hours, she had her sweats on, glasses on, her hair was messy and books were spread around her. Her phone pinged beside her:

Jughead: can I come over?
Betty: sure! The doors open😊

A few minutes later she heard the apartment door open and close. "Betty?" He shouted. "In my room!" She yelled back and she listened to the sound of his footsteps as he made his way to her room. "Hey juggie" she smiled from where he sat on her bed. "Hey you" he said softly. "What are you doing?" He asked as he sat at her dressing table. "Homework" she sighed and flopped on her bed. "How much have you got left?" He said. "One essay, I should be done in about an hour" she sighed. Jughead nodded and then stood up. "Where are you going?" She asked and he just told her to wait and see.; she could hear him in the kitchen be she continued with her work and after about 5 minutes he came back with two coffee mugs and his laptop under his arms. He handed her one mug and placed his mug and his laptop on her dressing table. "What was this for?" She's smiled, taking a sip. "Keep you awake to finish your work" he said and he sat down again and started typing on his laptop. "Juggie?" She asked confused. "Oh! I'm doing my work as well while I wait for you Then we can watch a movie" he smiled and her stomach flipped; he was always so good to her. He grinned at her and took a sip of his coffee.

When they were done, they cleared their stuff and went into the living room. "Hey Betts? Can I take you somewhere?" He asked. "What now? I thought we were going to watch a movie?" She said. "We can when we come back" he asks and she nodded. "Let me change" she said and looked down at her sweats. "No! I mean... you look really pretty betts now come on" he said and ushered her out of the apartment; she was blushing at his compliment. They walked for a few minutes until they got to an alley. "Jug why are we here?" She asked as he lead her to a door and up a staircase. "Just trust me, I found this place after a week of living here" he said and opened another door and they found themselves on a roof of a building, overlooking the New York skyline. "Woah" Betty said in awe. "I know, it's beautiful" he said as they say down and looked out the busy city. "It looks like it does in movies, magical" she smiled. "It does" he said as he watched how her face lit up as she looked at her surroundings. They sat in comfortable silence just watching until jughead noticed she was shivering so he shrugged off his jacket and handed it to her. "Thank you juggie" she said and leaned her head on his shoulder. After a while he helped her up and they made their way back to the girls apartment to watch a movie. "Thank you for tonight" she said as they sat on the couch. "You're welcome" he said and she gently kissed his cheek, leaving both of them smiling.

When Archie and Veronica returned home that evening they found Betty and jughead on the couch, jugheads arm thrown over Betty and her snuggled into his chest, both asleep; and Betty was still wearing jugheads jacket.
