Bughead: coffee & kisses

Chapter 5

The next day, Betty was rushed off her feet with work. The coffee shop seemed to be uncharacteristically busy and Betty had Been running around all day trying to fill orders and wipe down the tables. She and jughead had woke up on the couch together that morning, and it wasn't as awkward as she thought it would've been; and she wouldn't lie, she liked the idea of waking up with him. Meanwhile back at the apartment, Veronica, jughead and Archie were in the girls apartment, watching a movie and hanging out. "When does Betty come home? Shall we go out for dinner?" Archie asked. "I'm down" jug shrugged. "Me too! Let me text B!" Veronica chirped and pulled her phone out. A few moments after texting Betty, veroncias phone buzzed:

Betty: works pretty busy, not sure when I'll be home. I'll let you know later xxx

"She said she isn't sure when she gets off work, but she'll let us know" Veronica told the boys, who nodded.

A few hours later, they others were still lounging in the apartment when the door opened and a disheveled Betty walked in. Her ponytail was a mess, her coffee shop uniform had stains all down in and she was dragging her bag behind her. "B? Are you okay?" Veronica asked, sitting up and looking over her friend in concern. "I'm fine, just had a busy day" she said, kicking her shoes off. "Maybe dinner will cheer you up?" Archie suggested. "Sorry to be a kill joy guys but I just want a bath and bed, you guys go with out me" she said with a small smile and walked towards her bedroom. "Should we still go?" Jug asked. "I think so, B will probably appreciate some alone time" Veronica said. "Okay then let's go" Archie said and the three of them left the apartment.

When the others left, Betty got in a bubble bath, put on a face mask and sighed happily as she felt her muscles relax and the stress of the day float away. She spent time pampering herself, and when she was done, she got out the bath, dried herself off and put some sweats on. She looked at the time and saw it was 9pm, so she grabbed a book and decided to read on the couch. Betty didn't know how long she was reading for, but soon the apartment door was opening and Veronica walked in. "Hey" Betty smiled. "Hey B, feeling better?" Veronica asked, sitting down next to her on the couch. "Much" Betty sighed. "Now l just need an early night" she laughed. "Well I'm glad" Veronica smiled. "So, how was dinner?" Betty asked. "It was good, we missed you though" Veronica said. "I know I'm sorry, but tell me, how are you and Archie?" Betty asked with a knowing smirk...

The next morning, Betty had a class at 10am, so was up early to get ready to leave. As she was leaving her apartment, the boys apartment door opened and jughead stepped out. "Hey juggie" Betty smiled. "Morning betts" he grinned at her. "Where are you off to?" He asked. "Ive got class at 10" she said. "So do I" he smiled as they walked in step with each other. "I have some time to kill, do you want to grab a coffee?" Jug asked and Betty nodded. "Jeez! It's freezing!" Betty whined when they got outside. "It is winter betts" jughead laughed. "I know but I didn't think it was this cold" she shivered. Jughead didn't say anything, but slipped his scarf off and wrapped it around her neck. "Juggie, you don't have to do that..." she said softly. "It's okay" he shrugged. Betty just smiled and leant up to kiss his cheek, not noticing the blush that appeared on his face...
