In the Hospital

Izuku Focus

Izuku's phone vibrated, an unknown number. He would usually ignore these but he had nothing better to do, Tenya had shut him out.

He opened the message:

"This is Iida, I'm using my mother's phone to say my farewells. Goodbye, Izuku"

he quickly put down the phone, not quite understanding what the message meant. Then it hit him. He checked the location of the phone and ran as fast as he could, Aizawa stopped him at the doors.

"Look, Sensei, I've got somewhere to be so please get the fuck out of my way" Izuku pleaded, his voice cracked and tears brimmed the edging of his eyes.

Aizawa let him go and Izuku sprinted towards the address on his phone. He activated One For All and sent himself flying cracking the ground below him. As he propelled himself he looked below himself and swan dived downwards when he reached Tenya's house.

He knocked on the door, hoping that the message didn't mean what he thought it did, nobody answered. Izuku decided to punch the door off of it's hinges.

He frantically ran around the house looking for Tenya, he saw a closed door and hesitated, if Tenya was in here and he was right about the message....

He slowly opened the door, revealing Tenya sitting on the floor in a pool of blood, a knife to his throat. That lasted seconds before he collapsed on the floor ass the pool of blood grew.

Izuku felt tears streaming down his face, he picked up Tenya and ran to the hospital, using his quirk to propel himself faster than ever before. All the while he was trying to talk to Tenya, he couldn't be dead. Izuku reprimanded himself for not trying harder, he just left when Iida shut him out.

He arrived at the hospital and told the nurses the situation, they got him in a room and asked Izuku to wait in the waiting room for results. In the meantime Izuku texted Todoroki who was in school.

Izuku: Todoroki, can you tell Aizawa to come to the hospital at *address* I'll explain it to you guys when you arrive.

Todoroki: Oh, okay. I'll come too if its okay with you.

Izuku: Yeah, I could use your company right now.

With that he put his phone down and waited for Aizawa and Todoroki to show up. He couldn't stop the tears from running down his face. He buried if head in his hands and sobbed until he felt a hand on his shoulder. He flinched slightly but relaxed as he looked up and saw who it was.

"Hey, kid" Aizawa said looking down at Izuku.

Izuku stood up and hugged Aizawa, crying into his shoulder. He didn't care that Aizawa would find it weird, he didn't care if people were staring, and he didn't care how loudly he was sobbing.

"What's wrong, Midoriya" Aizawa asked as he rubbed Izuku's back.

"Iida" Izuku said still sobbing "He tried- he tried to k-ki-"

Aizawa understood exactly what had happened and held the boy tighter.

"Those here for Iida Tenya can visit now" A nurse said

The three of them walked in the room together, Tenya's nearly lifeless body was hooked up to what felt like a million machines. A doctor walked in with a clipboard.

"He's alive but barely, three is the maximum amount of visitors so that if he does wake up he doesn't feel overwhelmed." he said, he looked at Izuku "You saved his life, had he arrived even a second later he probably wouldn't have made it."

Izuku looked at the floor and let his tears fall. Eventually the doctor walked out and it was the three of them again.

"Uno?" Todoroki asked as he pulled a deck of uno cards out of his pocket.

"Todoroki, why do you have those?" Aizawa asked

"Well, Midoriya sent me his location and it's a hospital, I thought he would need something to get his mind off of things so I have Uno." He said plainly as he dealt cards "Are you playing or not?"

"Fine" Aizawa said, giving in. Izuku nodded and smiled slightly.

They sat there on the floor of Iida's room for almost an hour playing Uno. Midoriya had almost forgotten about everything that happened. For the first time in four days he smiled.

"I gotta get home before Hizashi worries too much" Aizawa grumbled as he stood up and brushed off his clothes. "I don't want either of you at school tomorrow. If you want the work I'll give it to you but I won't lower your grades for what you miss"

Izuku and Todoroki nodded. The two boys sat in silence, listening to the slow beeping of Tenya's heart monitor and Tenya's slow breathing. Todoroki stood up.

"Look man, how long has it been since you've slept?" Todoroki asked as he extended his arm to help Izuku up.

"I slept last night" Izuku defended

"How long?"

"8"

"8 what, Izuku?"

"Minutes" Izuku looked at the floor so he wouldn't see how disappointed Todoroki looked.

"I'm going home to get blankets so we can sleep here tonight, I know you don't want to leave" Todoroki said "I'm not leaving you alone"

With that Todoroki left the room and Izuku was left alone with his thoughts and his unconscious boyfriend. He pulled a chair up to Iidas bed and looked at him.

Izuku sat there, analyzing Tenya's features, the way his hair fell as he was laying down, the way his nose was always slightly upturned, and how square his jaw was. Now more than ever he wished he were awake.

"Tenya, I love you" I choked on tears "don't leave me, you deserve better"

Izuku grabbed Tenya's hand and looked at the scars that ran up his arm, the stitches holding him together. Izuku let a few tears drop into the bed he was leaning over. His gaze shifted to Iida's neck, a small almost invisible cut on one side. Had Izuku arrived a second later...

He didn't want to think about what would have happened. He just sat there, looking at everything that was perfect about Tenya, everything that was on the line right now.

"Ten, please wake up" He said after a few minutes "Ten, please I can't live without you"

He cried into Iida's shirt, mumbling all his worries in between sobs, begging him to wake up.

"Ten~" His voice cracked his voice faltered.

The door opened, it was Todoroki. He walked silently towards Izuku and pulled him into a hug.

The two boys sat in silence the only sounds was the beeping of Tenya's heart monitor and Izuku's occasional sniffling.

"Todoroki," Izuku said "I miss Ten"

"I know," Todoroki said softly "He won't leave us, especially not you"

Izuku hugged Todoroki harder and he cried until he fell asleep in Todoroki's arms.
