Richie ran to his first period class faster than he'd ever run in his life, apart from when he'd been chased by a giant statue at the memorial park, but he didn't count that, he had already been late way too many times this year and being late again would probably result in serious consequences, both from the school and his parents, who, by the way, had no right to be mad at him because all they did was leave him to fend for himself most of the time, so he almost blamed them entirely for the whole situation.

This time though, he wasn't late because of sleeping in, or sitting on the edge of his bed wondering whether he really needed this education until he had like two minutes to get to class. He was late because of the early driving lesson he had that morning, which could've gone smoothly, if he had actually studied the signs like he was supposed to, resulting in him thinking the 'roundabout ahead' sign was a recycling sign. Which then of course turned into him being yelled at by his driving instructor when he, one, took a hand off the steering wheel to point at the sign, and two, proceeded to say, "hey look! A recycling sign! We should recycle you!"

Yeah Richie probably wasn't going to get his license anytime soon.

His driving instructor had then made him pull over to have a serious conversation with him on the importance of 'road safety' and had then gone on telling him he should consider waiting a while before getting behind the wheel again, which he obviously wasn't going to do.

Besides all of that, he had managed to get to class just in time, practically skidding around the corner into the classroom and smiling when he saw his small boyfriend shaking his head at him.

In between third and fourth period, Richie was at his locker, minding his own business and getting some books out as he yawned lazily to himself. His daydream-like state was quickly interrupted when a girl from his grade suddenly came and stood next to him, making him slightly jump back and look down at her with a face of half-disgust and half-confusion. It was Hannah Gray. She was actually kinda annoying and self-obsessed, and Richie had no idea why she had come up to him.

"Um hi..?" he hesitated, slightly backing away since she was somehow way too close for his liking.

"Richie Tozier."

"Uh, that's me?"

"We should go out sometime, you have no choice, I've already planned it," Hannah said proudly, Richie just glanced around the halls, hoping one of his friends would come and save him right now.

"Let me think about that for a sec.. uh.. no."

"What why? It's not like you have a girlfriend."

Richie really wanted to say, "I like dick, more specifically, Eddies dick" but what he actually said was, "not interested in dating, but hey I'm sure Mike Hanlon would LOVE to take you out, you should ask him instead."

Before she had any time to answer, Eddie was already walking over to them and tugging Richies arm, "come on Rich, let's go, we have fourth period together, remember?"

Richie just shut his locker before letting Eddie drag him away, jokingly waving goodbye to the girl with a smug look on his face. "Why were you talking to Hannah? She's one of the ones who used to bully me in seventh grade for being small and shit you know.." Eddie trailed off, he was gripping some books against his chest and looking off to the side. He seemed sad.
