Clip One - Sierra's POV:
The whisper came softly, penetrating the thick, heavy black that shielded my eyes from seeing the interior of the house. It seemed to crawl along my skin, causing goosebumps to sprout up all over my body.
"Sierra...." I resisted the urge to whirl towards the sound, knowing that my position would be compromised.
I could tell by the tone of the voice, the subtle note of pleading and frustration laced in the way they said my name that they didn't know where I was, giving me the slightest chance to escape.
The darkness had heightened my senses, so I could feel the coldness radiating from the wooden floor beneath my boots and against my back, and hear every little creak and groan that traveled through the thin walls of the ancient mansion as the monster searched for me. Sweat trickled down my temple, stinging the gash on my cheek that was oozing a dangerous amount of blood.
Having exposed wounds meant certain death, but my scratch was small enough that it could go unnoticed if it stopped dripping with damn blood.
A loud screeching noise cut through the silence, coming from right in front of me, as though something sharp and heavy was being dragged across the floor. I struggled to keep my breath steady and fear shot through me and all my instincts told me to run for my life. I could feel my heart trying to break free from my chest, climbing up into my throat.
Then I felt the air ripple, heard the sound of something slicing through the air in my direction aimed for my stomach. I heard death call my name as my stomach was sliced open and life left me.
