~ Areum's POV ~

The ride to the castle wasn't too long as our town was the closest. I was wearing the dress that Jin had bought for me yesterday. However, he didn't stop there. Jin had bought me enough clothing to last me a lifetime, and somehow he had fit all of it into two suitcases.

I twiddled my thumbs as we passed through the front gates. I looked out the window and gasped in awe. The castle was stunning. The pathway that led to the enormous castle was aligned with an assortment of flowers, each flower representing the different towns in the kingdom. I spotted the white calla lilies which represented my town and I smiled.

The car slowly came to a stop right in front of the castle and I gulped. I turned to look at Jungkook and he raised his fists and whispered 'fighting'. I reached for the door handle, took a deep breath, and opened it. Suddenly, I was surrounded by cameras and a very handsome looking Kim Seokjin. He sent me a small smile and then spoke

"And here we have the breathtaking Choi Areum from Worldwide Handsome town, and might I say you are looking stunning in that dress. Your sponsor has taste." I laughed as he winked at me

"Thank you Seokjin, he certainly does."

He takes me by the hand and walks up the large marble steps, and through the grand doors. As we enter the castle my mouth drops open. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined. However, Jin doesn't let me stop to admire the decorations. He takes me by the hand once again and whisks me off into room after room until we stand in front of another set of large oak doors.

"This is where I leave you. Inside are all the other contestants, and in about half an hour I'll enter the room with Prince Jimin by my side and the first challenge will begin."

My eyes widened in shock. The first challenge! Already? I wasn't ready for this ordeal to finally start. Then I thought to myself, this is actually a good thing. The faster the challenge comes, the faster I can get disqualified, and then I can finally go home.

"Don't be nervous, just be your normal self and everything will be fine, and make some friends in there, but make sure to watch out, some of those girls are seriously scary. Now go have fun!" And with that, he opened the door and pushed me in.

I cursed slightly, almost tripping over my long, elegant dress. I reluctantly looked up and saw that all the other contestants were looking at me, I felt like a deer in headlights. I waved awkwardly and they went back to conversing with each other.

Maybe I could just sit in the corner by myself. No! I had to be confident just like Jin had said. I took a deep breath and strutted over to the nearest group of girls. I recognized them right away, Lee Hyuna and Kim Eunha. Both were very well known throughout the kingdom.

Eunha was an aspiring singer and her songs were a hit with our generation, her fanboys were even trying to make her title song "Boom!" the Kingdom's anthem song. Jungkook was obsessed with her, his entire room was covered with her posters. She was beautiful as well, she was wearing an orange dress that resembled the color of the sunset.

Hyuna, on the other hand, was known for being a very talented surgeon, her track record for saving lives was astounding. They said her hands were those of god. It was almost like magic, she would be given the most critical cases and after hours in surgery, they would be perfectly healed. Hyuna was dressed in a mint dress that suited her lean figure awfully well.

I cleared my throat and they stopped their conversation and turned around to face me. Before I could introduce myself Hyuna spoke up

"You're Areum right? The professional dancer?" I nodded my head meekly

Hyuna and Eunha giggled at my nervous behavior "Oh honey don't worry Hyuna won't bite you, we were just talking about how much we love your dress!"

Hyuna nodded her head in agreement "Yes! Your sponsor definitely has taste, I mean my sponsor took me to such a low-class place to get a formal dress."

"Wait, who is your sponsor?" I questioned

I actually didn't know how sponsors were given to the contestants, I mean Jin had just told me that he had liked me the best that's why he chose me. If I were him I would have probably chosen the contestants that actually had a chance of winning the competition.

Hyuna chuckled "Oh darling, we're not supposed to be revealing who our sponsors are."

I raised an eyebrow in confusion "Why not?"

This time Eunha spoke up "Basically there are thirty sponsors. They all get to chose one contestant that they will sponsor throughout the whole competition. I mean they're kind of like our fairy godmothers, and they will do anything to try and help us win the competition. And in the end, whichever contestant wins and ends up marrying Prince Jimin, her sponsor will get something grand, unfortunately, they haven't released the details to that yet."

I nod my head in agreement, I was definitely going to ask Jin about this the next time I saw him. I continued to make conversation with both girls, I realized how down to earth they both were, even though they were very popular, they didn't rely on that to make friends. In the time that we talked they didn't bring up their careers once, and I respected that.

I was going to say something else, but I quickly closed my mouth when I heard the large oak doors open once again, except this time it wasn't a contestant, it was Kim Seokjin followed by many cameras. I gulped, I forgot that this was going to be telecasted throughout the entire kingdom, and what was worse my family was watching this at home.

"I am your host Kim Seokjin and I would like to welcome all of our lovely viewers to the first night of The Heir! As you can see each contestant has come in wearing the colors they were assigned and might I say all of you look marvelous. Now, let's not waste any more time. Tonight will be the first challenge, but don't worry it's nothing too big. Each contestant will converse with Prince Jimin for five minutes, and five minutes only. After he is done talking to each contestant he will choose which girls he will eliminate and which girls will go on to the next round. So ladies make sure you appeal yourself to Prince Jimin otherwise, you're out of here!"

Appeal myself? How was I supposed to do that? What was I going to say, hey Jimin do you come here often? No, that's so stupid don't say that!

I was brought out of thought when I heard Jin speak up once more, he was really running this whole announcer voice into the ground "Now without further adieu, ladies and gentlemen it is my utmost honor to welcome our very own Prince Jimin!"

Before I could do anything I was pushed out of the way as all the contestants ran to the front to see Prince Jimin. Hyuna and Eunha had caught me before I could hit the floor, thankfully. I stood on my tippy toes as I tried to catch a glimpse of the prince. I was about to give up when suddenly the screeching and fangirling abruptly stopped and the girls parted away, causing me to stand in the center like an idiot still on my tiptoes.

I stood up straight, almost tripping as I did, and locked eyes with him. When I saw him my heart almost immediately stopped beating and the world around me vanished into thin air. There were no contestants, no cameras, no worries. There was only him. I stared at the hottest male I had ever set eyes on and my legs immediately turned into jelly just looking at him.
