Chapter 6

*May 2015 in Ann Arbor, Michigan*

"Ryan-" Dylan gulped, grabbing my hands as I shook my head, smiling brightly back at him.

"Dylan, bubba, I swear, if you don't stop saying stupid things then I'm going to break up with you," I giggled, squeezing his hands as he just looked back at me with sad eyes. "I love you with my whole heart, okay? This may sound mean, but I don't need you to be here for me to love you. As long as your happy and doing what you love, then I'll be happy!" I smiled as he let out a soft sigh.

"But I don't want to leave you-"

"Dyl, I'll be where you are in 3 years. The Red Wings, they will move on if you don't sign," I laughed, shaking my head. "I understand that you love me and everyone here, but you're not dying! You and I will still be together and everyone from UMich will still be here," I smiled, grabbing his face in my hands. "Don't be dumb, Larkin," I smirked, pecking his lips.

"You promise you wouldn't be mad if I signed?" He gulped, pushing my hair out of my face as he cupped my face in his hands.

"Dyl, I'll be mad if you don't sign," I smiled as he laughed, nodding his head.

"Can I lay with you? I can't think right now," he mumbled, crawling across my bed, pulling himself under my covers as I just laughed, laying next to him.

"Sure, Bubba," I laughed, placing my head on his chest as he held me close to him.
