CHAPTER3

(Lady Juliette's POV)

"Well, since we'll be seeing each other every day for hopefully a while, I want to know you three," I admit softly, smiling with respect.

A beautiful, tall, blonde who seems to be around twenty years of age answers first. "My name is Katy. I'm pleased to meet you."

An average sized, teenage, pretty brunette bows her head next, smiling as well. "My name is Morgan. I look forward to attending to you."

The youngest looking maid speaks up quietly, "My name is Grace. You are my first person to take care of, as I just turned twelve and started working. I hope you enjoy your stay!"

To pass time, I let my maids know that I'll be in the library. I take my time walking, leisurely watching the sun rise slowly. As I walk in through the greatly detailed doors, my breath is caught in my throat.

My eyes wander along the tall shelves of many, many books. A smile graces my face as I stare in awe of the beautiful sight.

After marveling over the sight, my gaze saunters to the grandfather clock, from which I learn I only have a short time left before breakfast. I decide to make my way to the garden for the rest of the morning.

As I approach the palace doors, two guards watch me closely.

"Am I allowed to walk the gardens?" I ask politely, smiling softly.

"Yes Lady Juliette, but one of us must follow you just in case if a rebel attack happens," Officer Timothy responds.

"Thank you, Officer Timothy." I reply, reading his name tag.

The other two guards open the large doors slowly, sunlight seeping in with the scent of fresh flowers. Officer Timothy follows me as I admire the fresh aromas.

Angeles has perfect weather in the autumn mornings: not sweltering, but not freezing either. My eyes fall over the beautiful, vast variety of flowers and plants. The landscaping is unbelievably romantic and magical.

Suddenly, I feel another presence. I turn swiftly, my hair flowing with me to see Prince Carter.

In this lighting, he looks too magical to be real. After admiring his features alone, we both silently sit on a bench.

Somehow we comfortably fall into a conversation about our lives, opening up easily to one another. I find myself smiling more often than I ever have with him; it's refreshing.

Unfortunately, our lively conversation is cut short by Officer Timothy, who advises Carter to make his way into the Great Room for breakfast.

"I'm terribly sorry, Lady Juliette. Would you mind walking with me to breakfast?" His hand extends to my own, as a smile graces both of our faces.
