It was 11 am and I had just woken up. A smile had adorned my face since I opened my eyes. Why ? Because today was my birthday, I was finally 25 years old. Unfortunately, no one was available to spend time with me. So I was going to spend my day alone. But it doesn't change of habit, Brad is very busy right now so he doesn't come often, I don't really have any other friends and my family don't care, except my mother but I don't think she wants to talk to me right now.
I picked up my phone and noticed that I had received a few messages, including Anne-Marie, James, Connor and Tristan. I was really happy that they thought of me but couldn't hide my disappointment when I saw that my best friend had really forgotten me.
After a few minutes of replying to the messages, I finally decided to get out of my bed, I was hungry. So I crossed my apartment before landing in my kitchen. I looked up from my phone and saw a small box on my worktop. I walked over and a smile appeared on my face when I saw Brad's name on the box. He had to take the double of my keys to be able to drop it off this morning. He hadn't forgotten me.
I took the box in my hands before opening it to find my favorite chocolate chip muffins. Brad had left a small card next to it that I hastened to read. "Happy birthday Lily! You didn't think I was going to forget your birthday don't you ? I'm sorry I can't be very present for you today, but if you need me, I can come a few minutes. You just have to call me. I love you ! <3 ".
A few minutes in a day? Well, it was better than nothing. The question is what am I going to do with my afternoon. I looked around and realized that my mother was right, my apartment was really messy. I had finally found my occupation for the day: tidying up my apartment, great program for a birthday day.
I had moved into this apartment a few months ago, yet I had already managed to dirty it, I even had one or two pieces of furniture to assemble. The good news is that it was going to keep me busy for a while.
I had finished tidying up the apartment a few minutes ago but I still had to assemble a shelf. I tried my best but I was always very bad at DIY, usually Brad does that for me. You're gonna tell me that I could call Brad but even if he said he could give me a few minutes of his time, I don't want to disturb him when they have to prepare their tour. But hey, after all that would allow me to see him a little bit and not be totally alone on my birthday. So I decided to send him a message asking him to come see me for a few minutes. He responded positively and I didn't have to wait long because he knocked on my door 5 minutes later.
" - Happy Birthday ! He told me before hugging me
- Thank you Brad ... I replied, really happy that he was there
- You really thought I forgot your birthday huh?
- To be honest yes, but I could have understood you know, I know you are very busy right now
- I will never forget your birthday Lily! He gave me a kiss on the forehead before looking at me. Be careful you have a white hair. He smirked at me
- Hey, I'm only 25! I hit him
- You're as old as me now. He laughed. Why did you want me to come? He questioned me
- So that you can help me assemble a piece of furniture. I showed him the boards still dismantled on the ground
- I thought you just wanted to hang out with me. He pretended to sulk as I hugged him.
- I need you for this piece of furniture but I'm really happy to see you. I told him. Well, I'll show you what's wrong. I approached the boards as he received a notification and took out his phone. Brad? You listen to me ?
