Chapter 11 - His Wooden Tomahawks

"Damn, they look cool," Jaehyun muttered to himself as he stared at both Aris and Yoongi conversing. Then, the other captains Seulgi and Suho joined them.

He has never admitted it to anyone even though everyone knew he looks up to both men.

But despite how hushed his mutter is, Ryujin heard him clearl. She was just standing near behind him. And as those words escaped his lips, the girl could only roll her eyes and scoff to herself.

If he was a girl, he would be head-over-heels in love with them like someone she knew. Someone who also does not admit her feelings even if none of them dared to ask, Ryujin thought. But then again, Jaehyun is the kind of guy who's more in love with himself.

"Just admit it," Ryujin started which startled the guy, quickly turning around out of surprise only to frown, wondering how long the girl has been standing behind him.

"... you're only applying in this regiment because you want to look cool like them." Ryujin continued.

"That and another reason... to be a cool captain who everyone will look up to." As he stated this, his eyes focus at Aris.

"Pshh..." The girl then scoffs. She hates the guy's guts but he never fails to amaze her at times Jaehyun showing off.

However, both their eyes widened at the sight of their friend wearing the uniform they both hoped to wear someday.

Somehow, she resembles a female version of the man she aspired to meet, especially when she's now carrying the weapons that are almost similar to that same man who she smiles up to at the moment.

"She looks happy... even after what happened the other day." Jaehyun says before looking at Ryujin but the girl sighs softly, "Yeah... she does. But he sure better protect her."

"We're talking about the hero of the apocalypse here. I'm sure she'll be more than fine. After all, you also think he's cool, right?"

"I almost changed my mind but yeah, he is." She then nods softly after her response.

Then whole Crimson Team then emerged from the hangar among with the other teams of Aris' brigade. Chaeyoung eyes then wondered off to wear the applicants are and she immediately noticed her best friends. Her smile widened and she quickly raised a hand to wave at them.

Aris was quick to noticed her and then turns his head to the direction she was looking. Both Jaehyun and Ryujin's smile faded in surprise, they even put their hands down as they too were waving back at her until the colonel noticed them.

However, they didn't expect he would be giving them a nod which took them by surprise.

Back when they were in the academy when Aris and the rest of the captains would visit, Aris would only take a quick look despite Jaehyun or Chaeyoung waving at the man when they were younger. He would then avert his gaze somewhere else.

However, both Jaehyun and Ryujin knew he was looking at Chaeyoung as they all suspected that he was the boy that saved her and he was checking on her.

That's all the interaction they got from him excluding the salute they gave him the other day during the first commencement of the test.

But right now, the colonel looked at both of them and gave them a quick downwaed nod before turning his back on them as he faces his team.

"I don't know why, but he gives off that boyfriend vibe," Jaehyun commented.

Ryujin's brows furrowed tightly, confused about what she just heard before looking up at the guy, "You're gay?"

"I am very much straight." The guy retorted in utter disappointment, "You've known me for four years and just one statement, you think I'm gay?"
