'I'll take first turn,' Emily said, eyes absorbing the hand that she had drawn. 'From my hand I summon Major Blue. I can only have one Major card acting as a monster at a time. With Major Blue's effect, I can pay one life to conduct an additional summon this turn. I summon Minor Red.
'Once per turn, Minor Red inflicts two damage to the opponent. Next, I play the spell card Colour Mixer, which acts as a permanent conductor. Fusing Minor Red and Major Blue, I summon General Purple, leaving the cards that were used to remain as equip cards. General Purple's attack and life is a combine of the materials used, totalling five attack and four life from Minor Red's two attack and one life and Major Blue's three attack and three life.
'In additions, its effects are the same as the material used. I activate both of its effects, inflicting two more damage to you and spending an additional life to make one more summon. From my hand I summon Major Green, which allows me to heal two life once per turn.' Green light covered Emily's body, healing her health total to thirty. Grave appeared undisturbed by his own twenty-six life point standing.
'Lastly, I play the permanent spell card Colour Wheel and end my turn.'
Graves laughed.
'What's so funny?'
'You used your entire hand for that?'
'Yes.'
'This school's standards are appalling,' Graves said, 'my turn. I draw and play the card Rainy Day Clearing. This card lets me discard one card, in this case my Rainy Day Rain Drop, shuffle all the cards in my hand into my deck and add the same amount of cards I shuffled into my deck to my hand of my choosing. The cards I choose are Rainy Day Rain Drop, two Rainy Day Sponges and Rainy Day.
'I play Rainy Day Rain Drop in defence mode and the permanent spell Rainy Day and end my turn.'
A single raindrop bobbed up and down on Graves' side of the field. One attack, one life. Was this person trying to ridicule her?
'My turn,' Emily shouted, 'I draw a card and summon Minor Red. I activate both Major Yellow and Minor Red's effect, reducing your life to twenty-four and pushing mine up to thirty-two. Next, I use Colour Mixer to fuse together Minor Red and Major Yellow, creating General Orange. Reusing their effects, I push my life up to thirty-four and deal two damage to you, one from General Orange and the other from General Purple.
'Battle! General Orange, attack the Rainy Day Rain Drop.'
General Orange slashed his sword and the drop of water disappeared into thin air.
'My spell Rainy Day activates. When a Rainy Day monster is placed in the graveyard, I can summon a Rainy Day monster from my graveyard. I summon Rainy Day Rain Drop in defence mode. When this effect activates, my opponent has to send the top two cards of their deck to the graveyard.'
Emily pulled out the top two cards of her deck and put them into her graveyard. She counted thirty-two cards remaining in her deck. There was no point to continue attacking, she would just have to wait until next turn to burn him further with Minor Red's effect. 'I end my turn.'
Graves drew a card from his deck. 'I sacrifice my Rainy Day Rain Drop to summon my Rainy Day Sponge. With this, my Rainy Day spell activates, allowing me to summon another Rainy Day Rain Drop from my graveyard in defence mode and forcing you to discard another two cards into the graveyard.
