'Lady's first,' Emily said. 'I play Major Blue and use its effect and summon Minor Blue at the cost of one life. I play Colour Mixer and conduct an alchemical summon to summon General Rain. General Rain, once per turn, can send five cards from the top of the target's deck to the grave. I choose to send five of my cards to the graveyard.'

'Rain cards?' Lyder gasped. 'A deck out effect? Have her cards combined with Graves' cards? But why has she targeted herself?'

'Seems the mystery has thickened,' Doctor Neels, who stood next to Lyder, said.

'It seems that the girl is controlled by that blue figure,' Sebastian added, joining Neels.

'General Rain's secondary effect. I can summon once again by spending one life. I summon Rainy Day Soldier. I end my turn.'

'Draw.' He could feel the reproachful eyes of the Water God behind Emily. If her strategy revolved around sending cards to the graveyard, his The Nine Levels of Hell would be crucial to his victory. 'I summon Hell Wrathful in attack mode. Battle! Hell Wrathful, attack Rainy Day Soldier.'

'When Rainy Day Soldier is attacked, I can negate destruction once per turn by sending two cards from the top of my deck to my graveyard.'

'You still take damage. I send Hell Envious to my graveyard to let Hell Wrathful attack again, and due to it successfully defeating an enemy monster, it gains two attack and one life. I set a card and end my turn.'

'Draw.' Emily's face was a composition of cruel confidence. 'I play Abandon the Rainbow. This card lets me put all General Purple, Green and Orange from my fusion deck into my graveyard.'

'Rune card!' Jones had no idea why she wanted to put her ace cards into her graveyard, but he reasoned that it could not be good for him. 'Repent. I pay five life to negate a spell card.' Pain jabbed at him, but he was fine with a small price towards a greater good.

'Going to play like this, negating my combos.' Emily clicked her tongue in disapproval. 'General Rain's effect, I put the top five cards from my deck into my graveyard. Next, I activate Graveyard Mix from my grave. I can use material from my grave to conduct an alchemical summon. I summon General Orange. General Orange's effect, I deal four damage to you and regenerate one life. Battle! General Orange, attack.'

'I discard Hell Slothful from my hand to negate the attack.'

Emily frowned. While her General Rain could defeat Hell Wrathful, it would come at the cost of her own monster. 'Again. I set a card and end my turn.'

'My turn.' Jones' eyes darted between his life counter and the cards in his hand. 'Lyder.'

'Yes?'

'I'm going all out, ok? I need to win no matter what. I play Rune Transmutation. This allows me to play a rune card as though it was a spell card. I then play Blood Bank and Blood Price in tandem with each other. Blood Bank lowers my life by ten, then restores the amount lost at any time next turn. Blood Price doubles the damage I would have taken in any instance but also allows me to draw a card for each five points of life lost. I'll be taking twenty damage to draw four cards.'

It was as though lightning had bolted down from the sky and struck down Jones. The crowd cheered encouragement for him, sensing the importance of this duel. When the smoke cleared from around Jones, Lyder was surprised to find Jones standing strong, smiling through the pain. He had one point of life.
