My next door neighbor was moving out. It was a single male who was in his mid forties. He was a weird man who never really left his house. Even though I never really talked to him, he seemed like a nice person
The house has been for sale for quite a bit of time. I was hoping a girl my age would move in so I could have a cool next door neighbor. Unfortunately, I knew some old fart would move in.
The "For Sale" sign was taken down. Apparently the new owners of the house would be moving in today. I looked outside of the window and saw moving trucks in the driveway. I saw an older woman who was alone and by herself. Great, an older single lady, just what I asked for.
Suddenly, a young boy was next to her taking boxes out of the truck. He was shorter, but very attractive. He had brown, short hair that was poofed up.
He looked pretty disappointed to be bringing boxes in. I would be pretty mad if my whole life was uprooted and moved.
My dad told me to go out and introduce myself. I complained and said I didn't feel well, lying because I can't talk to boys for my life, but he didn't believe me.
He pushed me out of the door and pointed to walk over there. Meanwhile, I was still in my pajamas with my hair in a bun. I applied a bit of makeup, but nothing crazy.
As I was walking over there, he noticed me and looked startled. The older woman, who I assume is his mom, looked excited to see me walking over there.
"Hi, welcome to the neighborhood. I'm Ariana, I live next door." I smiled
"Hi sweety. I'm Debbie" She greeted.
"Do you need any help moving in boxes?" I asked
I looked over to the boy just staring at me who gave me a weak smile.
"If you want to help, it would be appreciated. Thank you so much!"
After I helped moving a few boxes, the boy finally talked to me.
"Hi, I'm Myles." He said shyly.
"It's nice to meet you."
He showed me around a bit. He didn't seem happy at all to be here. I can't lie and say I didn't feel bad for him. He seemed like he would rather be anywhere in the world, but here.
"Where did you live before you came here?"
"I lived in Arizona. It was a pretty small town." He stated.
He seemed nice, but pretty quiet. I kept trying to start conversations, but he just would let them die out. I don't know if he was just tired or extremely shy.
"If you ever need me, I'm pretty much always home," I chuckled.
"Thanks. I feel like I'll be here a lot too." He laughed
I started suddenly getting nervous as I was talking to him. His eyes, oh his eyes. They were beautiful. I wish I could run my hands through his hair.
I interrupted my train of thoughts. I needed to stop. He could be a jerk. It's not like I would have a chance with him anyway. I'm average, and boy... he is not.
His mother invited me over for dinner. I really liked his mom, and I think he knew.
"You seem like you really like my mom," he chuckled.
"She's really sweet." I smiled.
I told the both of them I would be back for dinner. Once I walked back home, my dad was sitting on the couch smirking at me. Oh no, he probably saw me talking to Myles. Great, now he's going to think I'm going to marry the poor kid.
